He just lost a million bucks..
Texas teams won't take him now..
If you have less pursurers then your market value will go down..
It's classic supply vs demand..
I congratulate big mike..
It must have taken a lot of courage..
But dude.. A million dollars has a noice ring to it..
Plus let's not forget the circus coming to town..
At least manziel isn't the story for the draft now..

He didn't lose millions cause he was never a first round talent. With the rookie salary scale now in place there is no way he'd lose millions. In the NFL draft all you need is one team that wants you or falls in love with you so to speak. It's not like you're a FA and you can take the highest/best offer.
From the reports I've read he will need to switch from DE to OLB in the NFL. He had trouble playing OLB in the Senior Bowl. He will need to go to a team playing the 3-4 that is looking for a OLB to develop. That will limit his stock somewhat and right now I've seen 3/4 rounder. Of course, after the combine he could move higher or lower depending on how he tests. But I don't see him moving into the 1st round.
He had no choice but to announce it now. His whole team already knew along with members of the media, so it was gonna get out soon anyway. May as well get it out way before the draft and hope it's not as big a story by then. I know the media won't let the story completely die by the draft but since he's a 3/4 round pick right now it should be pushed off the front page by speculation about who will go #1 overall as we get closer to the draft.

You know what your problem is?
You haven't seen brokeback mountain enough..:)
I enjoyed reading your argument..
But you are naive to think that some teams will get put off by his sexual orientation..
And when I say some teams I mean the cowboys and the texans..
They are old school..
Old school don't like the guys who bet on the Yankees..
Having said my rant..
For some reason I can see big mike going to the pats..
We need defense..
And belichick is known, under his icy exterior for having a soft spot..
I would commend any team that he signs up for..
The team that does sign him would be gutsy..
I wouldn't have a problem with a gay guy in the locker room..
But, just like in brokeback mountain..
There are some NFL players that don't like guys who bet on the Yankees..

I don't have a problem. I don't care if Michael Sam is gay or not. I only care about how well he'll rush the passer, stuff the run, and drop into coverage.
I'm sure a few teams won't want to deal with the media circus that will come with picking Sam but that's their problem and not Sam's. I'm sure there are a few teams that can't handle the extra publicity. But I don't see how that hurts Sam's draft status. The strong franchises will have no problem taking him in the draft if they think he can make their team better. That's all that will matter to them and he's better off going to one of those franchises in the first place anyway.
Why do you think Texans are more intolerant than the rest of the USA? I've never seen that on my many business trips to the state or from any of the many people from Texas I've meet. They all have an independeant spirit but that's mostly due to being their own country for 10 years.
I don't think he's cost himself any money. He was a 3/4 round pick before his announcement and he still is. There was no guarentee he was getting any endorsement before the announcement and he might just pick up a few he wouldn't have gotten before.

Why do people keep saying endorsements???
What the heck is he going to endorse??
Republicans, extreme right wingers and the Catholic Church hate big mike..
I guess he could be in commercials for the aethiests?
Can't spell sorry.. Whatever..
It's funny how the people that aren't any good come out of the closet..
I guess they figure that's the only way to make a mark..
Nothing wrong with that..
It's always tough to be the first..
I give baseball 5 more years..
It's the most red neck..
Jake glyenenhall died in Texas..
Be careful betting on the Yankees in Texas..
One of my best soccer buddies, Thomas, is from Texas..
And he agrees with me..
So you just made a huge mistake..
Go ahead.. Try and back pedal now..
I think I'm going to enjoy your 3rd..
Your probay better off ignoring your HUGE mistake..
I didn't make the rules..
Some things are just more complicated..
I can understand why some people are homophobic..
It's sad.. But whatever..

You need to keep up with current events Froggy. The Pope relaxed the Church's stance on gays.
Since there is a rookie pay scale now, endorsements could be a major part of a rookie's income during his rookie contract years. Sam's could endorse a lot of things. I'm not going into exactly what cause it doesn't really matter. If you really want to know. go take a marketing class but there is a big gay/lesbian market with ads directed at that market cause they have cash to spend.
No one said Sam's wasn't any good. He was Co-DPOY in the SEC last year so he's not bad but he may have to change positions in the NFL and that always increases the risk so teams usually don't take those type of players in the first two rounds with some exceptions of course.
No idea what betting on the Yankees has to do with any of this. Got any proof this buddy of your's agrees with you? I could just start making up names and say they're from texas and agree with me too. Trinh from San Antonio agrees with me. See that's too eazy to do!!!
But go on, keep insulting people fromthe great state of Texas. See what that gets ya!
