1. Canada will win olympic hockey gold..
I really wanted to say team USA..
Beating the russians in Russia is kind of a big deal..
But the rational decision, is to pick the Canadiens..

2. Arsenal will beat Bayern in North London..
While Im hoping for a nil nil draw..
I would LOVE a 1-nil win..
It can be done..
Yes we are under dogs.. I get it.. But so was seattle the other week ago..
We will probably lose in Germany, but whatever..

3. Louisville will repeat as March Madness winners..
There is only one and can be only one LITTLE PITINO..
He knows a thing or 2 about basketball..

4. Isner will win In Delray..
Its kind of a weak field..
Isner is healthy now and is seeing the tennis ball the size of a basketball..

5. The Yankees won't be any good until the A-rod contract expires..

6. The new japanse pitcher for the yanks will be a flop..
All Japanese pitchers are flops..
Japan produces fantastic batters.. But their pitching is a bit suspect..

7. The Dodgers will regret the ENORMOUS Kershaw contract..
What were they thinking?
Didn't they learn ANYTHING from the A-Roid contract..
Its too big of a risk..

out of space..

1. Sweden wins mens Olympic ice hockey gold
On the big ice, Canadians don't normally play well. The Swedes defense is stacked, with skilled guys who flourish on the big ice. Canada hasn't adjusted to the big ice, as they try to play the dump and chase game on the big ice, which doesn't work. Also, they look to just get in front of the net and in the slot in the offensive zone, which works on small ice, but not so much on the big. They aren't using the whole ice.

2. Bayern beats Arsenal, and it wont be close.

3. This round's CL winners will be: Barca, Atletico, Bayern, Dortmund, ManU, Chelsea, Madrid, and upset...Bayer!

4. Bayern will win CL

5. Tanaka will be a solid #2/3 pitcher.
Pitchers always flop from Japan? Yu Darvish is pretty damn good. Kuroda too. Iwakuma was great last season. Uehara was probably the best AL relief pitcher last season. Japan overall has produced much better pitchers than hitters, as Ichiro and Matsui are the only hitters to have great success in America. But either way, saying someone from Japan will succeed or fail based on the performance of past Japanese is stupid

6. Trout shatters records with the largest contract ever signed during ST

1. You are the hockey expert.. Not me..
For my 2 cents..
Beating Russia in Russia is pretty cool..
Maybe Americas biggest win since 1980..
I see silver in America's future..
Canada is the 2 time defending champion..
So yeah my pick is boring..
While your pick is refreshing, exciting and expands the minds of casual hockey fans..
I didn't realize it was a 4 horse race..
Thanks! I'll watch/check out Sweden..

2. Arsenal will play bayern tough..
We beat pool last weekend so our confidence is good..
If we hadn't beaten pool.. Yes.. Massacre..
If wenger picks the right line up..
I want Walcott.. Chamberlain.. And polodolski..
Rest giroud.. He misses too many chances..

3. So you pick 7 top seeds to win..
WOW!!!
Way to go out on a limb..
I'll take chitty over an old barca..
And galastarray over the inconsistent chelski..
I mean chelski did lose to lowly Basel TWICE!! This year..
And why the hate on Paris?
You are off there..
You are only picking a plain Jane Leverkusen cause you got to see them live..
Don't make predictions from the heart.. It never works:)
(Unless it's arsenal:$

I didn't pick Bayer cause I watched them, I picked them because they are having a hell of a season and have been the second best German team up until now. But turns out I am likely wrong, since PSG is winning big already. You are just picking against Chelsea because of your fandom, and hatred for them. Though it would be cool for Drogba to come back and beat Chelsea.

Arsenal has not looked well in recent fixtures. They won the FA match against Liverpool (I missed it, so don't know how they looked), but got blown out the match before 5-1, and drew at home against a mid-table club in Man United. They have been struggling.

More predictions:

USA beats Canada in the womens ice hockey final.

Ervin Santana signs with either the Blue Jays or Mariners.

Olympic hockey quarter final predictions: Sweden, Canada, USA, and the upset...Finland over Russia. And this would be amazing, because it will set up the semi's with two of the biggest, if not the biggest, rivalries in hockey: USA-Canada and Sweden-Finland. Amazing.

There will be plenty of rumors in the following months of Moyes being sacked and Klopp replacing him, but Moyes will return for another season.

1.Hockey...
soooooo you really don't like the russian hockey team do ya?
I will admit.. I find their gold necklaces a little obnoxious..
but COME ON.. they are good for at least a bronze..
Home field advantage will take them at least that far..
I wish I could take an upset pick in hockey..
But since I only follow the sport once every 4 years..
I say this..
semis..
Canada, Russia, USA AND YOUR SWEDEN..
Canada wins..
who REALLY CARES ABOUT SECOND AND THIRD????

I dont hate Chelsea..
I actually grew up as a chelsea fan, back when they REEEEEEALLY SU-K--CED..
But then they turned into the Yankees, and I kind of became a Mets fan..
plus Arsenal plays attractive futbol..
And I went to high school in north London.. So I do have ties to Arsenal..
We haven't won a trophy in 8 years.. But whatever..

Awfully quiet about Paris vs zeeee Germans.. Hey? Hey?

Galastarry isn't as bad as you think..
They are actually pretty good..
Drogba at 35 still has some gas left in the tank..
The Turks are hard workers..
Plus Schneider is a beautiful orchestrator..
Its not a bad pick..
You are just upset over Leverkusen..

I was right on the Finland upset. I was right on Arsenal getting crushed (Bayern dominated possession and the game). I was right on the USA upsetting Canada in women's hockey. I'm doing pretty good. So vote for me :-)

More predictions!

Canada beats USA, in OT. Will be tight, and Canada will have to step their game up, but I think they do it. But they have to stop playing Kunitz (he should not have been on the team over a guy like Giroux), and should put Subban in. Losing Tavares is big, but wont really matter because the coaching staff was stupid and not playing him with Crosby on the top line anyways. Canada wins 3-2 in OT.

Sweden beats Finland in another really close game.

Sweden beats Canada in the gold.

Canada beats the Scottish in the gold medal for curling (I don't know why I'm predicting on this, I haven't seen a single curling match this year and don't even know who the skip is for Canada these Olympics)

The Raptors win a playoff round.

Drogba will score in Chelsea, despite losing.

The Red Sox wont make the playoffs.

England wont make it out of their group in Brazil

Uruguay will make it farther than Argentina in the World Cup.

Hey WAMU,

Stop stealing my arguments! There's no way I can take this now and not seem to be just copying your comment #1, LOL.

On the other hand, 99.99% of Fn (the .01% being Froggy) would make the same 1st argument so no harm no foul, so to speak. ;^D

I was actually in Cologne this past weekend, and saw Schalke beat Bayer. Watching a soccer game in Germany is amazing, especially when it is a big meaningful game. One hell of an experience.

February 18, 2014  02:38 PM ET

I got challenged by PCH, but didn't make it in time before it got deleted...
