NBA Champions and Awards

Joe Smoe (2-2-1) vs _________P____C___H__ (19-12-10)

My pick is the Oklahoma City Thunder
The Thunder Will defeat the Indiana Pacers in the Finals 4-2 with none other than Kevin Durant winning the Finals MVP. They will have Westbrook return and will improve them and add more depth putting Reggie Jackson back on the bench.

The MVP will be The Slim Reaper, Kevin Durant. Having the best year of his career averaging over 31 points per game, almost 8 rebounds per game and over 5 assists per game.

The Rookie of the Year will be MCW, Michael Carter Williams Averaging 17 ppg, over 5 rpg and over 6 apg.

6th Man of the Year will be J. R. Smith helping the Knicks to many of their few wins.

Defensive POY will be Roy Hibbert, averaging over 2 blocks a game, he makes players miss by making them change there shot in mid-air. He makes defenders think twice about coming in the paint.

Most Improved player will be Anthony Davis, Averaging over 20 ppg and 10 rpg, he is one of the best centers in the league. He is a Defensive Phenom, Averaging over 3 blocks a game and 1.5 steals per game.

phek it. I'm not retired. Sorry nation, I'm a wishy washy son of a gun.

I've got Pacers winning the title in 7, over your Thunder. Adding Bynum was a great move. It adds a lotta depth where depth is not needed. Which is kinda crazy sounding, but it is what it is.

I haven't kept up much, but if Scola's still healthy, they have beasts on the boards, teams betta recognize. The Heat should be shakin' in their boots. They always get abused by bigs down low. (think above sea level)

Stephenson might not fill up the stat sheet, but he's a playmaker. George, could easily be argued for top 5 in the game, even though I didn't mention it in my last td. ha

MVP, I've got Lebron James. Sure, Durant embarrased him @ home, but I just think the mvp race is neck and neck, and the Heat will turn on the burners till the playoffs. Lebron's game winner against the Warriors last week in Oakland, one of the plays of the year.

ROY I have the same...

DPOY: LBJ6... He does everything. Defense, especially good. It's time to give him another accolade.

6th Man: NICK YOUNG Averaging 16.9 ppg vs JR's 13.0

Coming out of retirement, wow that didn't last long

Who knows how much Bynum will effect the Pacers, while on the Cavaliers he had below average number playing 20 mpg, yes he will be a backup and only need to provide 12-15 but still he would be averaging low numbers.
Both teams have the same record but the Thunder play in a harder division playing in the West. They will have more experience playing tougher teams

Kevin Durant stats: 31.5 ppg, 7.75 rpg, 5.5 apg
Lebron James stats: 27 ppg, 7 rpg, 6.5 apg
Durant by 4.5 in ppg almost 1 in apg and down by 1 in assists, but remember, Kevin Durant has had to do this without Russell Westbrook, Durant he has had to carry his team, LeBron has had Wade and Bosh

LeBron over Hibbert? I would take Davis over LeBron

Nick Young is a great choice, i give you credit on that one to be honest i think you would of beat me on that part but Nick Young only scores, he averages under 3 rpg and 1.5 apg while J.R. Smith averages 3 apg and 4 rpg

You still need a most improved player

Swaggy P....

getting buck in L.A..

MImprovedP: easy peasy, Aaron Afflalo SG MAGIC..

averaging 19.4 ppg...

last year 16.0 ppgg..

and, Afflalo averages only 10ppg for his CAREER.

He's shooting 42% from the arch, last year, 30%.

I'm not arguing Lebron vs Durant, that's played out like Brady vs Peyton.

Last year Anthony Davis averaged 13.5 ppg, 8 rpg and 2 bpg, his apg and apg went up slightly as well.

This year averaging over 20 ppg, 10 rpg, 3 bpg, all significant increases.

Davis went from 0% shooting from downtown (0-6) to 25% (1-4) LOL better than Afflalo's increase.

Afflalo only increased his ppg, other major stats went up by less than one.

The best arguement for LeBron vs. Durant is that Durant has lead his team with not much of a supporting cast.

LeBron has plenty of help unlike Durant.

Brady vs. Manning? I'll take Brady, but thats a different arguement.

Davis went from 0% shooting from downtown (0-6) to 25% (1-4) LOL better than Afflalo's increase.

Davis is reaching his potential, he was a #1 pick for God's sake.

Afflalo, dude gets no love, or any media exposure.

not ANY....

ole rookie takes all his exposure, on the Magic, dude's from Indiana.

Afflalo almost averages 20 ppg, that's big, for someone you don't ever hear about.

You said it best, Durant doesn't have much around him, when in all actuality he does, and just wait for Westbrook to come back. Lebron's numbers are of those with Dwayne Wade in the side pocket, but still, they're considerably high given the circumstance. Lebron hits more game winners, the scoring average won't help his case as much as you think. #GrimREaper

The Pacers will win the title, and I believe, their games with the Heat will be more intriguing. The Pacers love game 7's, not really, but they'll have two back to back, kinda like Miami had.

Pacers in 7.

I think Paul George should win MVP, but KD will

Hey as long as you can admit it, I'm cool with it.

JR Smith is definitely not winning any awards this year.

He's been awful.

Left's arguing style seems awfully familiar. Really it was the bit about Unibrow's 3 point percentage.

I feel like I know exactly who that is.

February 20, 2014  01:31 AM ET

Anyhoo now I'm gonna read the arguments but before I do I need to say KD has requested we recognize him as The Servant, not the Slim Reaper.

February 20, 2014  01:33 AM ET

I would go so far as to say Unibrow isn't just a top center in the game, he's one of the top players period. Last I checked he was top five in efficiency overall. Not just centers.

Stephenson actually does fill up the stat sheet. He's averaging over 14 points, more than 7 rebounds, better than 5 assists, and close to a steal a game.
