Aaron Murray should be a 2nd round pick. 3rd at worst.

Of course everybody knows PCH loves his "dawgs".

Murray, one of the best I've seen in my 30 years as a dog fan.

More athletic than both David Greene and Matt Stafford, arguably the two best since '83, for the "dawgs".

Greene held the record for most wins as a starting qb, until ole Colt McCoy came through, or vice versa, can't remember. Greene was damn good though, all the same. Greene had like 42 starting wins, I'm too lazy. sorry.

Aaron Murray didn't have wheels like other qb's, DJ Shockley or Quincy Carter, but for a white boy, he had some serious speed. I would say a hair faster than Aaron Rodger's acceleration.

Murray, take it for what it is, was 10 yards from playing Notre Dame for the national title, Georgia's first shot since the early 80's. Murray couldn't convert with seconds left, their 10 yard line, Georgia Dome, SEC championship, against "Roll Tide, Roll".

We woulda beat the snot out of Notre Dame, and Catfished Te'O.

Murray's numbers are coming 2nd round, I wanted you to at least do yourself a favor, check out his genius. You can hate the dawgs, you can think Aaron's undersized or something, but he's one of the top qb's coming out

I have no problem with Georgia or Murray but I'll go ahead with this debate regardless

The argument against Murray in the second round is simply one of supply and demand. There are a lot of good QBs in this draft. A quick look at draft rankings for QBs shows Murray somewhere near the end of the top ten

For me personally there are several QBs I'd rank ahead of Murray:

Teddy Bridgewater
Johnny Manziel
Derek Carr
Blake Bortles
AJ McCarron
Jimmy Garoppolo
David Fales
Zach Mettenberger
Tajh Boyd
Brett Smith

That places Murray eleventh on my list and some publications are even placing Murray behind Logan Thomas and Stephen Morris

The point I'm trying to make is there would have to be a **** load of quarterbacks taken in rounds one and two before Murray would ever even cross an NFL GM's mind before the end of the second round. The third round is possible I guess but very unlikely. I just don't see even close to ten QBs being drafted in the first three rounds, meaning Murray's almost certainly destined for the fourth at best

In 2013 one QB was taken in the 1st round, one in the 2nd, one in the 3rd, four in the 4th. Murray doesn't have a chance at rounds 1-3

It's 2014, bro. New year, it's not going to be anything like last year's draft, this is talked about as one of the best ever.

There's gonna be possibly 3 qb's taken in the top ten of the draft.

Manziel

BridgeWater

Bortles... Central Florida...

As far as qb's go, Houston could take one @ #1, Jacksonville NEEDS one @ # 3, and Cleveland needs one, they have the #4 pick.

So, given what you said, he's probably the 10th or 11th best qb in the draft, there's a GREAT chance he'll be off the board by the 4th round. GREAT possibility.

Aaron Murray is the leader, all-time in SEC history, for td's thrown.

Murray's also the leader in yards thrown, in SEC history.

Career Stats @ UGA: 121 td's-41

Murray is the ONLY qb in SEC history to throw for 3,000 yards per season, in a 4 yr. span.

This guy should be NO distraction, he's a a Psychology major. lls...

Thanks for taking the td, Marlins, but I'd say you're a little off here. He'll get in be4 the 3rd's over.

There are anywhere between 10-13 QBs who would have to get drafted before Murray, most likely. Assuming its just 10, that would still be nearly one third of all NFL teams drafting QBs.

The odds of 1/3 of all teams drafting a QB in time for Murray to make the third round can't be good. I doubt you can even list ten teams who need a QB. Even if you can, you can't list ten teams who would draft a QB in rounds 1-3 this year.

And we haven't even got to Murray's game film. You're conveniently forgetting Murray's penchant for shrinking ad the stage gets larger. How many games did Murray lose against ranked opponents before he finally won one? Didn't he have an oh-fer streak all the way into either his junior or senior year?

What exactly is it about Murray you find to be so valuable, other than the fact that he played his collegiate years in Georgia? Is there anything he's done that makes you think he's even worthy of a top round pick?

Yeah, he set some longevity based records At UGA. Big deal. He was a four year starter. Of he course he compiled large stat totals over all those years.

But what did he ever do to make him a top round draft prospect? Hmm?

He's mobile for one.

He's more accurate than the likes of Boyd, and he's in your top ten.

Who are these guys?

Bunch of talk?

What defenses did they play?

Jimmy Garoppolo

Never heard of him till about 3 weeks ago... lol

David Fales

San Jose St.? lol

Taj Boyd... Hell of a qb @ Clemson, but tell me how he pans out in the NFL?

Aaron could easily sneak in to the top ten of qb's. It's not that 10 teams necessarily need a qb, but a lot of NFL teams that have starters, have sh8tty back ups.

10 qb's taken by the start of the 4th round, not too crazy.

There will possibly 4 qb's taken in the first 10 picks of the whole DAMN DRAFT!

Also, what don't you get, I said Aaron Murray's better than Stafford, Murray took us farther than he did, and Stafford's a tortouise compared to Murray.

Hate on the SEC all you want, but they're still one of the top 3 divisions in football. TOP 2 really.

Murray isn't super mobile. He's no Johnny Manziel or Tajh Boyd, that's for sure. He has decent mobility for a white boy but it's not really anything to write home about.

Also that nonsense you keep spewing about Murray being more accurate than Tajh Boyd... you're not correct about that. You are uncorrect. Discorrect. Incorrect, if you prefer.

As I posted in the comments, Murray's completion percentages make Boyd look like some kind of completion machine. Murray went 64.5-64.8% in 2012-13 while Boyd was at 67.2-68.5% for those same two seasons.

Completing passes has a lot to do with accuracy. You can say what you will about receivers and all that, but Tajh Boyd consistently completed a higher percentage of his pass attempts than did Murray. I don't know why you're so stuck on comparing Murray to Boyd accuracy-wise (seems kinda random to me; they're not even similar players) but you might want to find a new comparison.

You personally might think Murray looked more accurate but the statistical evidence says otherwise.

Anyway good TD. Remember to remember Brett Smith. Remember this debate too when Murray falls to the sixth round in the draft.

Good luck.

Writing this, Marlins, I haven't looked at any projections. So, he might be 2nd or 3rd, but I heard 4th round, maybe a glimpse of Espn one time. Who knows. I just stepping up for my doooode. GL

I left one of my favorites of the td, Eric Zeier. #QB #DAWGZ

Our old qb Bobo, he's the offensive coordinator. booooOOO

February 24, 2014  03:42 AM ET

Kellen Moore. Wait, what?

February 24, 2014  03:54 AM ET

I could make a strong case that Aaron has more potential than Boyd.

Murray's #'s this year were nice, minus a Sammy Watkins.

Also, Boyd's accuracy is a question mark. Hell of athlete though, no question.

Murray has an outstanding first name.

Murray will go in the later rounds, but he'll be a good pick for whoever takes him.

he won't be taken that early. about 10 guys ahead of him and yes QB is in high demand this year, but someone who needs a QB badly isn't going to take 2 rooks. So with the 32 teams (looking at the first 3 rounds), no one in the NFC East will take one. Maybe one to the NFC west in the Rams. In the NFC north the Vikes will take one. In the NFC South, maybe the Bucs. AFC East maybe 2 with Fins for sure and the Pats taking another groom project or the Jets or Bills adding insurance. The Raiders will take one of the West. The Browns will take one in the North with potentially the Bengals or Steelers being dark horses to groom someone. The AFC South might see 2 taken with the Texans and Jags.

That's looking like at most 8 QBs coming off the board that early and there's no way Murray is one of them.

David Fales? .... Uh, that's in the top ten, why can't frkn Aaron Murray take one of their places? Lets be real.

February 24, 2014  11:57 PM ET

Just because you haven't heard of a player doesn't mean he's not any good.

Remember Brett Smith. Dude has a crazy good arm and is a really good athlete.

Where do you come up with this garbage? It's funny how you get mad when folks disagree with you. I mean you're very opinionated but sometimes it's not based in reality.

For example... "Boyd isn't accurate at all". WTF are you jabbering about?

I'm gonna show you the completion percentages for two QBs over their last two seasons.

QB A 2012, 64.5% 2013, 64.8%
QB B 2012, 67.2% 2013, 68.5%

Guess who those guys are. QB A is Aaron Murray. QB B is Tajh Boyd.

And you think Boyd "isn't accurate at all"? What does that make Murray? Lol

aaron murray didn't have **** for wide receivers this year, Watkins is 1st round talent, probably top 15. Bet a UGA wr doesn't even get drafted.

February 25, 2014  03:08 AM ET

Although the TE LYNCH, he'll be up there among tight ends, but still.

That argument doesn't really hold water. It's possible Boyd made Watkins look as good as he did, for one thing.

And in the one season Murray had AJ Green he still only completed 61.1% of his pass attempts.
