I still have to go with the man Pele said was the best a few months ago, Kaka. He single-handely took out the competition during last year's UEFA Champions League by winning the tourney's Golden Boot Award. Had it not been for him, they probably wouldn't have went that far. They would have been out against Man. U. I firmly believe that Kaka is still the best footballer in the world right now.

well, heres the problem, i also think its kaka. he has incredible vision beyond his years, and is up there with ronaldinho and crsitiano on what he can do wit the ball. What makes me so impressed by him is his composure in the worst situations, singlehandedly pulling milan out of the fires of the red devils by calmly slotting home a number of times. He has absolutley every attribute u want in an attacking middy, plus more. Cristiano and Messi are right behind him, but they are younger and need time.
Keeper said 10/30, 06:52 PM
Another thing is that he always seems to step up when needed. With Brazil at last year's World Cup, he stepped up when needed. Like against Croatia. They were struggling, and he gave them a boost by scoring. Without him, Brazil would have struggled as much as Australia to get into the 2nd round. He also has the best combo of talent. His passing, shooting, and his ball skills. I'll go in to more depth.

yep, i mean there is no real argument here. im not going to be hypocritical of what i said in the past, kaka is the #1 player on the face of the earth. hes stepped up at the internationals level, and even takes away some of his prowess to mesh with the likes of ronaldinho and ronaldo and robinho. Right now, if i was hypocritical, cristiano would be my pick. Another great attribute he has is the mixture of a predatory dead eye for goal as well as making his temmates better through brilliant ball distribution

Report Offensive CommentI think Kaka was a large part of Milan's champions league success, but what made him so effective was his partnership with Seedorf in the attack. Look at the Bayern Munich and ManUtd games they won

Report Offensive Commentlol wallace. i think they both are saying kaka is the best...so their is no argument lol
The Guru hopes to be back soon | 10/30/07, 07:13 PM
Report Offensive CommentWe are lacking an argument indeed, but perhaps that is because Kaka right now is the most unstoppable player playing and is quite hard to argue against. He has an extra gear for crucial moments ala Jerry Rice, if I may make a cross-sports comparison. Ronaldinho is a tricky fellow but Kaka relies less on cheeky passes and just gets after it when he sees red.
IMO Gerrard can be involved in this discussion. Nobody has a more complete game. He attacks AND defends at a superior level. Less flash and production on the O, clearly, but these other guys aren't half the defender Gerrard is.
Jazinho | 10/30/07, 07:22 PM
Report Offensive CommentI agree Jazinho. He mightv'e been able to make an arguemnt for Christiano Ronaldo or maybe Buffon, but Kaka seems to be a step ahead of everyone else.

Report Offensive CommentYou could have made the argument for Cristiano Ronaldo, Jeevs. He's your boy and mine. You got the vote though, because you at least mentioned him.

Report Offensive Commentas of today meaning 10/31/2007.....I'd say Messi considering he's been lights out phenominal in la liga

Report Offensive Commentyou are both right, my personal favorite style is flare and making tricks and magic, there is nothing like winning with style, grace and beauty the way Ronaldinho and Messi play, which is like the 2 greatest EVER (Pele & Maradona) but right now it's Kaka, Messi and C. Ronaldo.
Why are we arguing Pele, he is not a CURRENT player, now if you want to argue Pele and Maradona, i'd like to see a TD on that one.
I'd have to give the edge to Pele but only slightly and only because i have heard that Maradona had some additional help and had drugs in his system.

Report Offensive Commentwell, guys, im not going to go against what i said in the past, kaka is the best player in the world, or else i would be a hypocrit. if i was going to be hypocritical, it would be cristiano ronaldo.
jeevs BS | 10/31/07, 02:57 PM
Report Offensive CommentMan, you should have went ahead and picked someone else. If you win this, I'm not going to TD you again. This has happened to be, but I actually went against what I believed and won the TD. This is terrible. You should have just did another person, it isn't too hard. That's two TD's in a row that you messed up.
Keeper | 10/31/07, 05:15 PM
Report Offensive Commenti messed up 2 TD's. i dont think so. u screwed up the first one, first of all. secondly, im not going to be a hypocrit and go against what i believe is right. u shoulda picked another topic. this is 2 TD's u screwed up, alright. its not my fault u go against in what u believe in. IDK care if u dont TD me again cause ur afraid ur gonna lose because u keep screwing up.
jeevs BS | 10/31/07, 05:54 PM
Report Offensive CommentWOW, I think I agree with...everyone. Messi is a very close second with the year he's having. The Flea is just tearing up the pitch this year and barring injury could LEAD Barca to La Liga glory. Notice I said lead. The kid is practically unstoppable. Kaka for me is class beyond class. All substance and no filler. Unlike Denilson from back in the day.
