I beleive it will! The Dodgers have more money then people give them cradit for! McCourt is a great owner except for the Depodesta incident! Also I do recall A-Rod saying "Joe and I have a strong relationship, and I wouldn't mind playing for him again!" A-Rod to west Coast! A-Rod to Dodgers! HE'S GOING!

I dont think it hurts, but I dont think it helps either. I dont believe who the manager is will really factor into A-Rods decision at all. Who is going to pay him the most (or give part ownership? looking at you Cubs) will be the determinant.

I think regardless of where Torre ends up, A-Rod is a Cub, Met, Angel, or Red Sock at the end.

The Manager does matter a great deal! A-Rod like Torre many players have signed with teams just for the manager! No team will give part ownership to a player that is INSANE! It does help come on if Torre wasn't in LA the DODGERS would have a slim chance, now they have a good chance! The dodgers can pay for A-ROD and we would treat him good! A-ROD A DODGER!

Yes, many players do factor the manager into their decisions, but I dont think A-Rod is one of them.

Also, A-Rod said he wouldnt MIND playing for Torre. I wouldnt exactly call that the type of excitement and endorsement that would cause him to alter his plans in order to play for him.

A-ROD HAS PLANS!? I HAVENT HEARD OF ANY!!!!! HE'LL GO WHERE HE WANT AND A-ROD AND TORRE DO HAVE A GOOD RELATIONSHIP IT'S A-ROD AND THE YANKEE FANS WHO DIDNT GET ALONG UNTIL HE STARTED DOING BETTER! WHY WOULD ANYBODY HAVE A BETTER CHANCE THAN THE DODGERS OF GETTING HIM!? THE CUBS COULD SIGN ALOT OF PEOPLE BUT THEY NEVER DO!

I think my point has been fully stated..

A-Rod doesnt care who he plays for, he cares who pays him.

I dont think its going to be down to the Dodgers and Cubs, both offering the same amount, and he's going to say, "i love Torre, i'm going to LA"

Why would it? Besides this year, Torre wasn't much of an ARod supporter...think ARod will forget that?

October 31, 2007  12:02 PM ET

I thought A-Rod hated Torre. If anything, this move probably deters him from going to the Dodgers.

October 31, 2007  12:17 PM ET

When did he sign, stop supporting rumors.......AND NO IT WON'T HELP AROD never liked torree

October 31, 2007  12:18 PM ET

AROD is going to the CUBS. PERIOD

October 31, 2007  12:23 PM ET

NO way Bombers. NO way. Lou is all talk! SF GIANTS!!

October 31, 2007  12:28 PM ET

Giants? Really, it could be but I really see him going to the Cubbies...which means the curse of the goat will ring true for about the next 10 years, or however long AROD is playing....his demands tear apart a clubhouse...

October 31, 2007  12:36 PM ET

If ARod signs with the Giants, then he will truly reveal himself as only concerned with $ not with winning. I think Cubs or Angels, and the list ends there.

October 31, 2007  12:39 PM ET

The team that needs him....to get back to the World Series and to win it.....is the

Detroit Tigers

October 31, 2007  12:46 PM ET

Torre batted arod eighth in the playoffs one year right?

October 31, 2007  01:06 PM ET

There is a chance, after all he is the best all-around player that hits.

Bonds will go to the Yankees. He is the best hitter.

October 31, 2007  01:10 PM ET

If Torre goes to the Dodgers, are they gonna double their team payroll so he can get them to the playoffs? :-)

October 31, 2007  01:11 PM ET

'There is a chance, after all he is the best all-around player that hits.'

That's debatable...I'd rather have Pujols...

"THE CUBS COULD SIGN ALOT OF PEOPLE BUT THEY NEVER DO! "

-The Enforcer

They signed Soriano last year. That's proof that they do sign people. Also, don't use all caps. It's annoying. Keep up the good work Wbcincy.

October 31, 2007  01:16 PM ET

managers do help bring people in I think having lou is a huge advantage for the cubs a big $$$ advantage as well

October 31, 2007  01:19 PM ET

Yes, IF Arod signs with the Dodgers.....

they will go to the World Series and WIN IT.

October 31, 2007  01:27 PM ET

With all the titles he brought Seattle, Texas, and New York, it's beyond a guarantee. They will win by 15 runs a game!

October 31, 2007  01:34 PM ET

Doesn't dj have one just like this?

October 31, 2007  01:40 PM ET

Gots to say no to A-Rod going to the Dodgers. If he ends up in L.A. it will be as an Angel.

October 31, 2007  01:49 PM ET

Yes it will.......

October 31, 2007  02:01 PM ET

I think A-rod would make a good Brave, he may want to stay around another insane owner
