THIS IS NOT AN IN GAME THROWDOWN
The winner will be decided by votes, not the outcome of the game. Thus if the Sun Devils lose, it doesn't mean you have to forfeit. I hate those stupid in-game TDs.
Anywho...I say Oregon wins this huge matchup. Oregon's biggest three games were #12 Michigan (win), #19 USC (win), and now unranked but previously dominant Cal (heartbreaking loss). ASU's only quality opponent was Cal, and by that point Cal had injury problems and clearly was no longer an elite team.
In other words, Oregon has played a tough schedule already and looked good. They are proven. ASU is unproven, and is less experienced in big games. This is just one reason. Of course there will be more to follow.
If anyone thinks ASU is the better team in this game, let me hear about it.

Well because we haven't seen ASU play anyone and the only decent team they played they beat in Cal doesn't mean anything. I'm saying that even though Cal was a different team, it's all basically the same. And by the way, Oregon played a hurt Michigan team in shock and USC just isn't the USC they used to be. So both teams played Cal and Oregon lost and ASU won. So I think it's tough to say that the Oregon is anymore proven than ASU because ASU is undefeated.

Oregon lost to a very good Cal team on a fumble as the receiver was going in for the tying scoring in the waning seconds. ASU had to come back on a reeling Cal team.
ASU has won most of its games from behind, which is fine and dramatic when you play weak opponents, but really can't be done against Oregon. When you have the lead the most important thing to do is run the ball, and nobody runs the ball better than the Ducks.
ASU will fall behind like it always does, but there will no comeback this time.

If your receiver fumbles the ball away in a game against the undefeated Cal team that now is reeling, what makes you think Oregon will fair any better against an undefeated ASU team who may be reeling soon as well...are you going to fumble the game tying run this time?
Favrefan is Oden said 11/02, 07:29 PM
That's the best argument you can do? It's almost unintelligible. Oregon played without a doubt its absolute worst against Cal. who at the time was probably the third best team in the country, and still lost in the final seconds.
You haven't really given me any reason that ASU will win, other than they have won their other games. Do you even watch either team? Know who ASU's coach is? Oregon is clearly the better team.
They've played a tougher schedule, don't have an injured first string QB, and have a quick strike offense that will stake them to an early lead. Their running game (remember, among the best in the nation) and their opportunistic, bend-but-don't-break defense will protect that lead and prevent and ASU comeback.

i watched both oregon and asu (dennis erickson former vandals coach)and realized that they are pretty even.. you are basing oregon's gonna win because of who they beat... which is a solid arguement...but you cannot argue against ASU because you havent seen them play solid competition? Some teams who have beaten mediocre teams are prematurely judged like you are doing. But many of these teams answer the call against a good team. And i think ASU will be one of those teams

I am a Beaver fan and I still believe the Ducks will win this game. they are on a roll right now and i dont see them losing this game at home. Its there third big game at home this year ( Cal and USC ) and only lost one game by a fumble at the end.

I am happy for the success of their baseball teams. I mean, they were expected to do well in 2006, but who saw 2007 coming? That was incredible.

yeah...the last 2 years has been awesome for the Beavers in baseball. And then with Ellsbury playing so well in the world series... that was pretty awesome as well.

And because of the Beavers' baseball success, Oregon is cutting their wrestling program for baseball.

Stop with the fumble away argument. OU could say the same thing. You lost to cal when they were overhyped and ASU beat them with longshore back at the helm. Yeah they were losing at half but won... did Oregon....the answer you are looking for is No
