Ducks vs. Coyotes, Nov 3 2007: Carcillo engages Perry to fight - it's good to take out the opponent's best scorer for 5 min and spark your sleepy teammates - but throws in an extra punch giving him a 10 min misconduct. Anaheim is already up 3-0 and nearly scores. After coming back in the third, he slashes Brad May for another 10 min misconduct.
Stars vs. Coyotes, Oct 27 2007: Carcillo gets 2 unsportsmanlike conduct. Dallas scores. To his defense, the referee, Mike Leggo, was prety harsh on him.

Should Gretzky send a message by benching one of his best -and scarce - scorers for a few or keep the bad behavior going. Fighting to defend your teamates, hooking or slashing to prevent a gola is fine, getting bad juvenile penalties on a team that alreayd has problems scoring 5 on 5 is unacceptable.....

BTW, I am a Coyotes season ticket holder so don't tell me I don't show enough support to my team.

I agree. But we're talking game misconducts. 32 PIM in that game. the 10 for fighting are good - it was great to see him and Perry be totally exhausted after it!

20 for misconduct are a problem on a team that struggles to score 5 on 5. the coyotes are young and need to learn about bad penalties. All championship teams learn - at some point - that there are good ad bad ones! Except maybe Chris Pronger ;-)

I agree about the use of an enforcer to protect the YOUNG coyotes. But still 2 game misconducts. The slash from behind on Brad May was no intimidation but a pure mean act.
Bench him for one (not like the Yotes winnign or losing makes a difference anymore) or at least have a serious talk with him.
