Favre's surprised almost everyone with his performance, but in your other TD you made it seem like he was the only reason the Packers are 8-1. Not the case.

That underrated Green Bay defense should get a lot more credit. The D is 3rd in the NFL in points allowed, and it has talent. The defense has allowed more than 20 points just TWICE this season. Any time you limit your opponent to 20 points or less, you have a great shot at winning the game.

Also, you made it seem like Favre has no weapons at all. Maybe he doesn't have as many as Brady, but he has some. Driver's had over 1200 receiving yards the past 3 years. In him, Favre has one of the most consistent receiving threats in the league to throw to.

I'll admit, Brady's got more weapons, but you can't deny it: he's been great. Randy Moss put up terrible numbers in Oakland last year when he didn't have a QB throwing to him. With Brady throwing to him, Moss is putting up career numbers. Brady is contributing to Moss's numbers as much as Brady is to his.

Wes Welker and Stallworth have never been 1000 yard receivers. Brady is making them better, not the other way around.

Brady's on the verge of breaking records. Give him the MVP.

You ignore a simple FACT about Moss in Oakland (Raiders fan here).......

He dogged it, had nothing to do with the QB throwing to him (maybe a little).....He quit running hard and making an effort, a staple in his career......

Welker is a late bloomer and his acquisition was almost as important as Moss because he plays in the slot and keeps teams from doubling up on Moss......

Sure GB's defense is better but this is the same group that was GODAWFUL last year......Favre has career high's in completion % and look at the last 3 years, his TD to INT ratio was alost 1-1......

The part about Randy in Oakland might be true, but Moss has never put up numbers this good, even when Culpepper was healthy, and teams couldn't double team him because Cris Carter was on the other side of the field.

Moss has never looked this great. That's because Brady's having a career year.

As for Welker, I think we can both agree he wouldn't be a number 1 receiver for most teams. However, this year he's putting up the numbers of a number 1 receiver, because of Brady once again.

I don't think Green Bay was absolutely terrible last year. They went 8-8, and missed out on the playoffs because of a tiebreaker. They've certainly improved a lot, but it's not as much as you think.

I think Favre probably has improved a lot more than Brady has this year, but Brady still his a lot more valuable.

Take Brady off that team and they would still win enough to be a decent team.....Take Favre off the Packers and they are possibly 2-14......

That is the indication of an MVP=Most Valuable Player, not the BEST player in the NFL......

GAME OVER

Woah, 2-14? Favre had a pretty bad year last season, and the Pack nearly made the postseason anyway.

When Favre performed badly last year, they were a borderline playoff team. The great Favre has essentially just had his team leap from borderline playoffs to division winners.

Without Brady, the Patriots are JUST a decent team. With him, they may be the greatest team of all time. He's improving the Patriots a lot more than Favre improves the Packers.

A poor Favre is better than Aaron Rodgers who wld have a David Carr type rookie year in his 1st SEASON as a STARTER.....

LAST year's bad Brett Favre 56%, 3885 yards, 18TD's, 18 INT's, 72 QB Rating

Rodgers wld put up numbers similar to Carr's rookie year: 52.5%, 2592 yards, 9 TD's, 15 INT's, 63 QB Rating......

They are very similar type QB's and GB would be obviously much worse without Favre AND a running game......Most fan's realize a Favre at 75% is like a Shaq at 75%, better than most other QB's.....

Here's to a good TD........

Vote to DJ for the simple fact of Favre's age and desire to win.

Finish this 2morrow

November 13, 2007  07:16 PM ET

Favre has zero chance of winning the MVP this year. Even if you throw Brady out of the equation (which you can't) there are other players having better years than Favre. Romo and Roethlisberger are having a better season at QB than Favre, Peterson would definately be in the running if his team was half way decent...ditto Westbrook. Moss, certainly, deserves some consideration.

Favre is having a great year and is a fantastic story, but he's not the MVP of the NFL unless he garners the sentimental vote for lifetime achievement, but seeing as he's already won 3 of them, that's unlikely.

wats wit all the periods DJ

November 13, 2007  07:32 PM ET

DJ, why are you doing 2 identical tds at the same time?

November 13, 2007  07:56 PM ET

I challenged him to this one. I didn't think the person in the other one put up a good argument.

November 14, 2007  03:56 PM ET

Cow-celt-chi- You really had me fooled ...I thought you were up on the facts...Favre is breaking records left and right...and even though he has had plenty of help with the OL and receivers...Like Shanhan said the night he was beat in ...was it 16 seconds of overtime....the ball had to be perfect...and it was.
I'll grant you...If the packers fall apart and take a dive in the playoffs or something or don't make it to the playoffs then Favre doesn't have a shot.
BUT THAT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!!! The story book ending could happen and if it does.... He will have an unprecendented 4th MVP. Hell, there's a chance he could win his second superbowl and get mvp this year and then do what everyone wants himn to do. RETIRE

November 14, 2007  03:59 PM ET

i know there is a lot of football to be played. CCC- maybe you are right ...no matter how good he plays everyone will want someone else to have it. Realistically...I don't know who it would be...Brady is just standing in the pocket and having target practice.

November 14, 2007  07:52 PM ET

Favre could play another 3-4 years and still be BVERY effective, people.......

November 14, 2007  07:53 PM ET

Since most of u havent played at the professional level, let me just say, when u play like him, with passion and a love for the game, it makes waking up on Monday's that much easier......With all the ache's and pain's, it is when u lose that love for the game, then u need to retire.......

November 14, 2007  07:58 PM ET

Good td but I totally agree with djroxalot. Good job to both.

November 14, 2007  08:24 PM ET

Brady is playing at an insane level right now. For the longest time I didn't like him, but it is hard to deny him right now. If this continues, he will shatter the single season records. How is he not the MVP?

November 14, 2007  09:09 PM ET

dj...that stuff about Favre is great and all, but how does it make Favre a worthier MVP candidate?

November 14, 2007  11:03 PM ET

They've lost 1 game... have no running game... and have won a few shootouts thanks to this guy.
