The Rangers have some great players but there not playing as well as they should be. Sure a 9-7 is pretty good but come on they have great players. Why are they this bad with those players.

Regular season records mean nothing, besides this is early in the season. It's making it to the playoffs that counts. Also the Rangers have a very well balanced attack. With Shanahan and Gomez you can't go wrong. They might not be the best in the NHL but I doubt anybody in the league wants to defend against them. The Rangers also play like a team look at these stats: Jagr 3 goals, Gomez 4, Drury 3, Shanahan 5 and Rozsival 4. All I'm saying is watch out for the Rangers.

I'm not saying the Rangers are doing bad they just haven't found the right stratagy to win the Stanley cup if they keep this up. With: Philadelphia, Ottawa(Ottawa is doing great), Montreal, Carolina, Detroit, Colorado, San Jose all great teams and all doing better than the Rangers. There is a chance that the Rangers will get to the playoffs but will they get past all the other teams? I'm just saying if they keep this up they won't be able to get past the other teams.

Like I said before your arguement is entirely based on the very start of the season. 82 games is a long season and as the season progresses the rangers should improve as a team. Also the rangers are playing great d and the saying goes offense wins games defense wins championships. It is to early in the season to eliminate the rangers from stanley cup talk.

Sure it's early but if the Stanley cup was know they would not have a chance. There a great team but if they don't get there act together then bye bye. They just aren't playing like Stanley cup material. Look at last year the Buffalo Sabres were at the top of there game and they lost it(what a depresing momment for Buffalo). And there d is great but is it as great as is needs to be? I say no. The Rangers they have to pull them selves together or there finished.

But the Stanely Cup is not now. And if it was the rangers would have an edge not having the kind of pressure Ottawa and those other teams have. Take a look at sports hstory it's usually the underdog that wins it. Farthermore if you look at how the rangers have been playing lately they have been picking up the slack. A dismal start is to blame for their average record.

its true, not as good as they need to be right now......
but you know its 82game reg season, whats good for the rangers, is there defense has been playing very, very good, which is something nobody expected, they do have a one of the top goalies in NHL now and even i am not big fan of the 2 big players they brought in, who dont fit there style of play much, they can sure get on a roll and who knows what will they look like by the playoffs. there are some HOT TEAMS right now, but that is hard to keep going for 82 games plus playoffs, i dont mind, my team to struggle little at the beginning and get it in the right track at the right time. i would not say they will win the cup, but you cant say they wont win it either, also now they can just play, if they started the season scoring like crazy, they would have to play all year listening to everyone how they will win the cup and on on, thats a extra pressure no team needs, its better going into the postseason little underdog then under pressure knowing you have to win. RED WINGS are the best team in reg. season almost every year, do they win it every year?

You don't win Stanley Cups on paper! What I mean by that is, you read the rosters across the NHL, and the Rangers have a very attracive roster. However, all these big name players trying to share the spotlight has not been working so far, compared to other teams in the NHL right now. In the east, Ottawa is looking to be the team to beat. At the start of the season I was thinking Pittsburgh, and I'm not quite ready to count them out either. Alos, in recent years, the Stanley Cup champs all have had hot starts of the regular season. Is it a coincidence? Maybe so, but I believe a good start can help you out around the end of the season, when you have players down with injuries often.

I agree but if you have all those star players having a relatively equal ratio of goals that proves that there's some chemistry there.
