1. Derek Anderson: Who knew he was this good? Good thing they got rid of Frye. If Anderson can continue this hot streak throughout the rest of the season I see playoff berth in the future.
2. Tony Romo: We knew he would be good but week 1 showed us he wants to go to the Superbowl this year watch out owners because he???s breaking out every week.
3. LT: In a funk early on then bam just started to brake out and produces nice things for owners.
4. Jeff Garcia: Going from back up to starter was a major change but hey why complain? He???s got his team a pretty damn good record.
5. Brett Favre: Where did this fire come from? He produces good things for owners.
6. Randy Moss: With him and Tom they are dangerous and Moss can catch the tough passes.
7. Wes Welker: He just broke out and now everyone wants Welker.
8. Phillip Rivers: Again the case of we knew something had to happen sooner or later and sooner has arrived, Phillip is a nice option for those who have an injured QB.
9. Peyton Manning: We knew it, he just won a superbowl how could we not know it?
10. Tom Brady: We knew he would be good but no one expect this performance and with the way he???s performing his has about

1. Adrian Peterson: we all knew he would probably be good but this good this soon ? no way.

2. Derek Anderson: i'm still not sold on him but he's producing well for a guy who was a backup and not even drafted in most leagues.

3. Steven Jackson: he went from sick last year to sick in a different way this year.

4. Lions Defense: ranked 2nd in fantasy points behind NE

5. Braylon Edwards: went from promising talent to straight ballin'

6. Ben Roethlisburger: went from tons of int's to tons of TD's

7. Marvin Harrison: a guy who's been producing for a long time just hit a wall w/ injuries, etc.

8. Brett Favre: went from on the way out to maybe hello superbowl ?

9. Frank Gore/Shaun Alexander/Laurence Maroney (tie): went from top 5 rb's to ranked in the 20's for fantasy RB points.

10. Wes Welker: ranked 6th in fantasy WR points. not bad for a 3rd wr/slot receiver huh ?

Anderson should be sold he's had a solid season, he lead the Browns from a horrible season to a good one now if that is selling I don't know what is. Brett Favre deserves a better spot than that he went from a next to nothing season to how did he do that? Adrian Peterson not exactly the number one pick that I would have chose but of course we have different thoughts. However I will agree that Peterson has been good until he got injured I think he's more a number 3 surprise. Wes Welker does deserve a little more than a number 10 spot. He went from an okay option to the point where every owner jumped on him.

I agree w/ you about Anderson but Peterson, as a rookie, is outrunning LT, LJ plus all the other good elite rb's and he was supposed to be splitting time! This puts him at my #1 just in front of Anderson. I might move Favre up but not as much as you're saying. I understand your argument about Welker but in terms of fantasy surprises i was thinking in terms of the entire season so far and Welker came on a little late and was hot and cold for a while before heating up recently a few week ago vs. Dallas.

Well I do see your point about Peterson. But I do think Favre does deserve more than where you would put him. He could take the Packers to yet another Superbowl for all we know that just shows you how good he is.

Like I said in hindsight I would probably move Favre up some but not above Roethlisburger because they usually have a control the clock, ground game going and don't throw unless they have too so his TD #'s compared to last year are really good. Also, the usually bad Lions D being # 2 in fantasy points for defenses behind NE ? That's a huge surprise, bigger than Favre. Also, mr. consistent, marvin harrisons huge drop off, w/ manning still at QB and that sick offense still in-tact is a major shock too. think of how high he always gets picked ! Braylon Edwards went from an average fantasy WR to the # 3 receiver in the blink of an eye. Steven Jackson went from arguably the lock # 2 pick to horrible #'s, and then of course AP. So, i might move Favre up maybe 1 spot or two, but that would be it, because he's still got great receivers, not much of a running game, and a great o-line and emerging TE's and plus we're talking about Brett Favre, future 1st ballot HOFer, like he was going to stay down for long ? Even at his age ? no way, he's ridiculous and that's why i'm not shocked that he's blown up this year but the other ones seem more of a surprise than Favre IMO.

How are Brady, Manning, L.T and Rivers a surprise.

Vote to Ed Reed

November 20, 2007  04:49 PM ET

Brady, Manning, and LT are all a surprise because they had
good season last year but no one predicted them to have a season like this!!! Rivers is also a surprise because he started off slow in the begininning as I said before in the TD then he started to really produce for owners.

November 20, 2007  04:50 PM ET

Well I didn't say he started off slow but, he did then Rivers got better.

November 20, 2007  05:31 PM ET

Don't forget about Rudi Johnson. A top 10 back in pre season and now he is just terrible.

November 20, 2007  05:37 PM ET

i was gonna put rudi in but i didn't have room spurscowboys. i thought the rest (like my rb's listed) were bigger failures/surprises, etc.

November 20, 2007  06:02 PM ET

You can say that for Alexander,Mcallister,Ronnie Brown, and even Caddilac Williams.

9th vote to Reed for having the minute brain cells it takes to realize NOBODY expected AP to be leading the NFL in rushing, NOBODY! Including you real sports.
