Big Ten= Power Conference in '08

Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State and Wisconsin will all have winning records and fight for bowl games next year. This is just an opening statement. The arguing will start with my second one.

Easily, there will be two BCS conferences better than the Big Ten: the SEC and the Big 12. The SEC will be the best as always. LSU will be good again. So will Auburn and probably Alabama(who knows with that loss to Louisiana-Monroe). And you can never rule out Arkansas with Felix Jones next year(possibly even McFadden, but probably not).
The Big 12's top three teams(Kansas, Mizzou, and Oklahoma) are all young and talented, and all of those teams will be better next year. You can also expect Texas to be back next year. They are having a down year, although their record might now show it.
Now the Pac-10 should be a better conference too. As much as I hate to say it, USC will be back next year. They could be undefeated this year without some injuries. Oregan will be good. The loss of Dixon will hurt, but little Leaf has a bright future. He looked good last week. He made some mistakes, but that was the most he has ever played in a college game. Mistakes are expected. Arizona State will be back too. Although Rudy Carpenter will be gone, they still have a very good team around him that will compete.
Michigan will not be great next year, with the loss of really good skill players.

Okay, first of all, I am surprised a Penn State fan accepted. Anyways, Ohio State will be back looking to take home a national title. They have Boekman, Wells, Robiskie, Hartline, Kirk Barton, Alex Boone, and Jake Ballard all coming back next year on offense. Possibly, Malcolm Jenkins, Vernon Gholston, and James Laurinaitis could come back (I doubt Little Animal will). The Buckeyes also have the number 5 recruiting class, and that will be boosted if Terrelle Pryor signs (which he his close to doing)

Indiana is 7-5 this year, and will be better next year QB Kellen Lewis is a dark-and I mean DARK-horse candidate for the Heisman next year. WR James Hardy is one of the best in the country, and coach Bill Lynch has done a great job turning around this program.

Illinois has their big three of Juice Williams, Rashard Mendenhall, and Arrelious Benn coming back. Ron Zook is doing a hell of a job recruiting, they have three 4-star and one 5-star recruit coming in. Juice has more of a realistic chance in the Heisman race next year, and I expect 8-10 wins from them this year.

I ran out of letters. Damn.

Ohio State may be looking to take home the national title, but I feel that I must remind you that they will make a September trip to Los Angelos to take on USC. USC will probably be the best team in the country next year. Even if Pryor does sign with Ohio State(you must understand that hometown fans can help convince you, and most people in that area HATE Ohio State. Of his main three choices, Penn State is the one that he would be most pressured into going to. But back to the argument, he would not have an impact next year anyway, with Boeckman as the starter.
Indiana is improving, but they are nowhere near being a national threat. Penn State and Illinois will compete well, but they may not be as good as the second and third best teams in most other major conferences.
You can't rule out the Big East either. West Virginia will be great again. White will come back, and he will have at the very least Noel Devine with him in the backfield. Rutgers is really improving as well. Uconn seems to know how to win, and Matt Grothe will bring South Florida back into the eyes of the nation next year. He has a shot at the Heisman, and he will be one of the best quarterbacks next year.

OK, I'm going to do it like this. Next year, the Big Ten will be better than the Pac-10 and Big East, because NEXT YEAR Ohio State will be better than USC and West Virginia, Illinois better than Oregon and UConn, Penn State better than Cal and Rutgers, and so on. I disagree with you about Illinois, I think they should be a top 10 preseason team. Michigan, if they get Les Miles, will be a monster next year, Penn State and Wisconsin will also be good.

OSU, Illinois, Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan State will all win at least 6 games and challenge for bowls, that is about 80%. (I think, might be wrong) at any rate, the Big Ten will be better than both the Pac-10 and Big East, so in '08, they will be one of the top 3 conferences.

Before I argue, what do you mean by power conference. Do you mean they will be the first or second best conference?

Something like that. 1, 2 or 3.

Okay, lets do this.

Vote to Leech. Big 10 blows this year. OU choked, michigan has been blowing smoke all year, Illini was a one game wonder, PSU always underachieves, Indiana and MSU are beyond mediocre, and if Wisconsin is the 10 fav going into next year this conference needs life support.

Thank you Cassidy.

SEC was suppose to be the best last year and big ten beat them in bowl games 3-1....

Report Offensive Comment

Kentucky...talk about a 1 game wonder...

Vote to bigdleech.

There is no way that all those teams will have winning records and also there will be a few conferences better than the big 10

Report Offensive Comment

and leave it to an SEC fan to not even read the TD title....pretty sure it says 08....good job CASS saying the big ten blows THIS YEAR when it clearly states for next year...and im pretty sure that the big ten finished with the same amount of .500records as the SEC did....NO?

Sorry man, I have to go to one of my friends houses now. I'll be on tomorrow night we can finish this up then.

Report Offensive Comment

hey should we leave out the pac-10??

USC? Arizona St.? Oregon? Cal? 4 legit teams.....Cal is streaky...sure but they can be powerful and they produce some pretty decent talent in the NFL....

A-St. they have a very surprising season this year lets see if their schedule is a lil tougher next season and makes this season look more legit...

Oregon may have lost dennis dixon but they're like kentucky with a quicker style of spread offense....put anybody in QB and you got a good team basically.....

and USC....Mitch Mustain transferred there.....he was supposed to be a phenom when he went to arkansas....maybe arkansas would have done MORE for the SEC this year if they had a more poweful QB play and more consistent darren mcfadden.....

the pac-10 should never get overlooked
