Terrel Owens IS the best receiver in the NFC

T.O. gets grief for everything. Last year he led the NFL in TD receptions and all anyone talked about was drops, ignoring the FACT he was playing with a broken hand and torn ligaments in his other hand. He didn't even make the Pro Bowl.

This year Owens is healthy, happy, and showing it. Yeah, it helps to have Tony Romo throwing him the ball, but this future HOFer is catching everything thrown in his direction and is on pace to surpass every one of his own lofty statistical career highs.

I???d say better OVERALL WRs in the NFC are Anaquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald, Tory Hold, Isaac Bruce, Plaxico Buress, Marcus Colston and Roy Williams. NOT just judging on this year alone, all these players have better hands, they???re all faster, and they all run harder better routes, AND they all try ALL the time.

Better Athletic WRs would include:
Calvin Johnson
Anaquan Boldin
Larry Fitzgerald
Plaxico Buress

ATHLETICALLY ONLY in case of Johnson

T.O is having a really good year but Plaxico was having an even better year until he hurt his ankle and he???s been playing like that for about 4 games now? He???s had the same or more TD output as Owens until this week when Owens caught 4 TDs, Burress would have had 13 or 14 by now if he???s played the last two weeks/

Fitzgerald and Colston started the season off very slowly but they???ve come into their grove as of late and they???re really hot right now. Larry Fitz has 7 games with 4 or more catches and more than 74 yards; Colston impressively has 3 games with at least 8 receptions for at least 118 yards.

Tory Hold and Isaac Bruce are better WRs Career wise lets look at it;

Career Stats

Are in a coment at the bottom

Well, you could certainly CALL all of them "better" but results would prove you wrong every time.

Better ATHLETIC receivers? T.O. isn't even the most athletic receiver on his own team. He also doesn't have the best hands of any receiver on his own team. WTF does THAT prove?

Holt and Bruce? OK, Lets DO look at it. If you add their career TDs TOGETHER it comes out to 24 more than T.O. 23 Years combined of two of the greatest receivers ever managed 24 more TDs than TO all by himself in 11+ years. And they were a part of the greatest show on turf where passing was king. And you are claiming that both of them ALONE is better than T.O.? That's funny.

Fitz has what? Colston has what?

T.O. has 1027 yards, 12TDs, and is averaging 17.7 per catch. Fitz and Colston couldn't carry T.O.'s jock right now.

Really don't know how to argue that point. He clearly is the best.

Are we going by just this year?

Report Offensive Comment

You can go by career if you want. Doesn't matter to me how you argue it.

Report Offensive Comment

Great. Down 2-0 without even a single argument being made against me. Typical fan nation, I suppose.

CCC: I was going to take it and I changed my mind. My slant was going to be all the determining factors that go into being the "best." If it's a stat argument, it's a tough one to argue. Now if you said in the NFL, that would have been a different story.

Alright Thanks

Report Offensive Comment

No problem. If you can find a better receiver in the NFC career wise, have at it, lol.

Report Offensive Comment

Cat, there are a LOT of ways to argue this one. I'm not going to list them because I don't intend to give my opponent any ideas, but it's not NEAR as clear cut as it seams.

Haha easy

Never mind I'll put it in my next arugment

I hate TO - but if we're talking about the best WR in the NFC right now - it's definitely TO - just look at his stats

@ Coach Taylor - WRs are only as good as their QB (Take Moss for example when he was in Oakland) - you can name Holt/Bruce/Fitzgerald/Boldin etc - but in the end, TO has Romo throwing to him - not to mention Dallas being a better overall team - For these reasons, TO is the best WR in the NFC right now

Report Offensive Comment

Couldn't you have just picked one receiver instead of listing off some random names? TO's the best receiver in the NFC right now and it's not even particularly close.

Report Offensive Comment

TO is still the BEST WR in the NFL......

Report Offensive Comment

how is coach winning this TD? you are really saying that Calvin Johnson & Colsten are better than TO. Please stop. I have zero love for the Cowboys and I will admit that TO is a man-beast.

Report Offensive Comment

come on Issac Bruce...maybe 7 years ago. Colston had one good year? Should have stuck with maybe Fitzy and just argued him....you went overboard. I'll take TO

Seven years ago Bruce had JUST completed his first year in the league...don't be a fool, MillerTime. Bruce has NEARLY the same amount of yards and Touchdowns, the same Yards per catch, BUT only in EIGHT seasons. Based upon ONE year (this year) Owens is having a better year, but overall during their respective careers Torry Holt is by far the better wide receiver.

For sure it's T.O. hands down the best WR in the NFC. I can't think of anyone who plays as hard and as physical as T.O. just a flat out beast.
