denagelo hall has always been a top corner. he has 11 pass defensed this year with 4 ints. ill admit last year he struggled getting beat but now he seems more focused this year. he really hasnt gotten ebat that bad this year except by joey galloway caause hall was going for a saln and galloway jsut go. other than that maybe a plaxico burress 20 yard catch. his first interception of the year vs the vikingsh e did a somersault to get which was amzing. then vs the giants his worst game on amani toomer which was special. his 3rd 1 was with a factured arm vs the 49ers on a overthrown ball by alex smith. his 4th int was vs peyton manning which was special. dont forget his touchdown vs the titans recovering a lendale white fumble. people say hall is overrated he is not he is undersized, but is a top 5 corner. he is a playmaker and although he is having a tough time keeping the controversey away [ steve smith fight calling out coach after jackson release]. he did shut down steve smith in both games this year. the dirst game before the fight WITH jake delhomme at qb he held smith 1 yard 10 catch. 2nd game with vinny testervde smith was 5 catches and 61 yards, and fumble which hall forced

Oh my god, is Hall overrated. How he made the Pro Bowl last year is beyond me! Right here, I'll post stuff last year, then next I'll go into this year:
Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys: DeAngelo Hall spent the whole game covering Terrell Owens. Owens finished the game with 5 catches for 69 yards and 2(!!!) touchdowns, including a 51 yarder. Not a great game for Hall.
Week 8 against the Cincinnatti Bengals: Hall spends the game covering Chad Johnson. Johnson has 6 catches for 78 yards and a touchdown, including a 20 yard catch.
Week 2 against the Buccaneers: Hall cover Joey Galloway, a receiver well into his 30s. Hall gives up not touchdowns, but allows Galloway to have a ridiculous 9 catches for 161 yards, despite having the passes thrown to him by Chris Simms, who is injured.
Week 7: Hall has one of his worst games of the season against Pittsburgh. He spends the game covering receiver Hines Ward. Ward has an incredible a catches for 171 yards and 3 (!!!) touchdowns, despite having backup QB throwing passes to him for half of the game.
Week 9: Hall covers Detroit receiver Roy Williams. Williams winds up having a field day, catching 6 passes for 138 yards and a TD.

first of all this is last year i said last year he struggled. roy williams and hines ward each kept running slants on him that is what hall ahs worked on stopping slant s and it has helped him which was y he has 11 pass defensed 3rd in league. kk the falcons beat the bucs 14-3 and galloway mostly got those stats on garbage time and on our other corner 5 foot 9 jason webster. hall had 2 picks that gmae too. chad johnson td was agianst jason webster i remeber it was a screen pass from 5 yards u can look up that video and hall played him good that game. the lions game and the steelers game was bad for him, remeber they didnt have much of a pass rush no john abraham or rod coleman. but the cowboys game wasnt fiar. they didnt abraham or patrick kerney who was on the ir. owens spit in his face which got him intidimated sincei t was his 3rd year 2nd year has a full time starter. he is smarter now and galloway had 2 catches for 62 yards and a td, other than that 40 yard catch nothing else. he isnt shutdown but quarterbacks dont throw his way much often and he stilll averges 4 ints to 6 ints.
EagleH8r: FanMs R disconnected said 11/23, 10:00 PM
It wasn't only slants. Hall was burned by TO and Patrick Crayton on fly routes (straight running). And TO didn't spit in his face. I thought that was all cleared up. And it didn't intimidate Hall. Did you see Hall? He looked like he was ready to fight, not cry. Plus, he talks so much that I can't imagine him being intimidated like you say.
And the REASON I brought up last year, is because it added to his reputation! I mean, that is part of him being overrated! The man SUCKED last year, and yet he beat out WWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY more deserving players, like Charles Woodson and Lito Sheppard, for the Pro Bowl starter spot.
Now, this year:
Against Jacksonville, Reggie Williams and Dennis Northcutt both worked on Hall and they had over 100 yards and a TD together.
Ugh... you know, I really don't feel like going and looking up all of his stats and the numbers of guys against him.
But anyone who has seen him play knows how overrated he is. He claims to be wickedly fast, yet receivers, even bigger, possession type guys consistently beat him deep.
He is a poor run defender.
He has trouble with guys cutting inside his face. When a receiver makes a quick cut, it's all over.

ok no u got me upset u clearly dont know football, here are the stats va the falcons norchutt ATL W 13-7 5 catches 75 yards 15.0avg 0 td. williams ATL W 13-7 2catches 41 yeards 20.5avg 1 td. and if u knew about the falcons there is something abut a another cornerbback. with hall as good as he is gerrard was scared to throw his side so he threw on the other side vs lewis sanders a bum as a corner
poor run defender he is 5 10 and he always gets inside a guy's face. he did vs smith bureess. and that game hall most of time covered toomer nad idd get burned. but that td buress had was becuase of lawyer milloy who is over the hill
you dont know football he has 11 passes defnesed and doesnt get beat that much as he used to last year. he is fast and our safeties cant cover because milloy is past his prime and crocker is terrible. if we had a guy like laron laundry it would make hall look better
what are u talking about crayton terry glenn was there. what u dont know his every1 balmes hall for coverage problems when most of the time its the other sides fault [jason webster, lewis snaders, or chris houston]. that was last year y cant u talk about this year
EagleH8r: FanMs R disconnected said 11/24, 03:34 PM
No, I am pretty sure I do know football.
Also, what am I talking about Crayton? I dunno. That one was my bad. I was thinking of the Arizona game. Forget that. However, that doesn't negate the fact of how much TO burned him.
Also, I have seen a few highlight clips this year. And the only "plays" I have seen Hall make are: getting baited into penalties/ fines/ suspensions by Steve Smith, getting burned badly by Joey Galloway for the SECOND year in a row (who is what, 99 years old, and a cast off from 27 NFL teams?), and getting burned for a TD by Reggie Wayne.
OVERRATED

Report Offensive Commentjoey galloway is well in his 30s but still one of the fastest if not the fastest reciever in the NFL.But still Hall is overrated.vote goes to eagle here.

Report Offensive CommentI don't think Deangelo Fall is that over-rated.
He is a high risk high reward DB. Similar to Dre Bly in Denver. guys that get big picks, but also get burnt at times as well.
Now I wouldn't credit Hall with every catch from a WR, but holding TO and Ocho Cinco under 100 yards is not too shabby.
One thing you forgot is that the game vs TB Hall also had 2 picks.
He is not a shut down corner, he is a playmaker.

Report Offensive Commentin the first falcons panthers game hall pulled smith down when he had a hall burnt to for a touchdown, smith has hall's number, he even beats him mentally, hall is overrated

Report Offensive Commentthank u and smith doesnt have his number hall forced a fumble in the endzone
im dead | 11/23/07, 09:58 PM
Report Offensive CommentHe even beats him mentally? That's what he does the most. A WR takes out a CB mentally when the CB commits multiple penalties on the same drive.
He's talented, but Smith has his...you knows...in his front pocket. I don't want to say the word because I bleeped out a word earlier and someone "reported" me. Very cool...
So is he overrated? eh...I really hate the whole overrated concept. It's not defined objectively. I'll leave it at I would bet on Steve Smith 10 times out of 10, while withholding the right to argue if Hall is declared the winner if he makes one play.
Ombudsman Cooz | 11/23/07, 10:01 PM

If a cornerback makes one play, and a receiver makes 9, that corner can't be defended. He can, however, be benched.

Report Offensive CommentI wouldn't bet on Smith 10 times out of 10. If you actually watched that entire game you would see that Smith had been shut out that entire game. Hall got hit by smith, then lit smith up on the next play they threw a flag for no reason and Hall lost his cool.
As for the play where he pulled Smith down, yeah he got beat, beat for about 25 yards not a TD. He doesn't pull him down smith is gone.

Report Offensive Commentit isn't too bad. Spend a lot of time on the computer, so all my downtime is on here. We get most games on the Armed Forces Network, so that isn't too bad. Football games help my weeks go faster, and I work nights so I'm up when you guys are. Other than that it is Iraq, and I'm pretty excited for April.

Report Offensive CommentI disagree with the premise that DeAngelo Hall is overrated. Every single game that I watch him play, he never gets beat. I've seen him play against Steve Smith loads of times, but Hall never gets beat deep. I don't think that you can make the assumption that Hall is always covering the #1 receiver for the other team. Teams do flip wide receivers, teams do put wide receivers in the slot. I've even seen some teams place their wide receivers in the backfield. Sometimes, the situation could be that they were playing zone coverage and the safety busts the coverage. The Falcons safeties are pretty bad.
