1.Walter Peyton
2.Brett Favre
3.Dan Marino
4.Emitt Smith

Jim Brown
Lawrence Taylor
Jerry Rice
Dick (Night Train) Lane

ill swith Smith for Rice.

My argument consists of:

Arguably the best running back ever, who averaged 5 yards a carry for his career and retired before he needed to.

Arguably the most disruptive defensive force ever, the original LT, who changed the defensive and offensive schemes of the NFL with his presence.

The wide receiver whose records are so far ahead of the pack, likely nobody will ever come close to any of them.

And a hall-of-fame defensive player with the most interceptions in a season and dominated the league for a sizable portion of his 14-year career.

Your argument consists of stealing players from my argument.

LT is on your list for all time?!You must be kidding me. Walter Peyton was the best player in the NFL he has somany yards you can't believe it.And Jim Brown Shouldn't even be on top on top 4. Maybe in top 10 but defentily NOT in first.

LT=Lawrence Taylor. Maybe you find something lacking in a man with 142 career sacks, but I don't. No less an authority than Joe Gibbs has said that he had to specially game plan against him.

Walter Payton has less yards than Emmitt. He has less YPC than Brown and Sanders. Less touchdowns than Emmitt and Marcus Allen. He could be the best, he could not. It's hardly cut and dry.

Jim Brown MAYBE in the top ten? Blasphemy.

Both of you left off Barry. He is definitely better than smith

November 26, 2007  01:05 PM ET

Joe Montana
Jim Brown
Jerry Rice
Walter Payton

November 26, 2007  01:08 PM ET

Wow. A Jerry Rice-less list on both sides. The one on the right is better, though. Let's see some arguments.

November 26, 2007  01:08 PM ET

Sorry, Rice is there on the right.

LOL.....

This is horrible....Any list has to have
Farve
Marino
Jim Brown

Those 3 have to be on the list....The 4th spot is debateable. Elway, Montana, Smith, Sanders....

November 26, 2007  01:11 PM ET

I don't even argue the point anymore. Elway, Montana, and Marino are all argued on as the best ever- but there's no ammount of stats that can back any of them up. It's personal opinion. The one's that claim Bret Favre to be the best ever are the stat junkies. The others- well, like I said, are very debatable.

November 26, 2007  01:16 PM ET

NONE OF THE ABOVE MENTIOED QB'S HAVE DONE WHAT FAVRE HAS DONE....AND YOU HAVE THEIR NAMES INSTEAD OF HIS??

Favre has not only won on the stats...It's the intangibles that produce wins. Favre has constantly done more with less and you think all he has is stats???
I didn't know they had computers in opium dens...You guys are high!!!

November 26, 2007  01:17 PM ET

its gotta be:

Rice
Sanders
Brown
and either Reggie White or Deion Sanders

God I can only imagine what Barry's records would've looked like if he hadn't left the game so early or had a better team to play on.

November 26, 2007  01:21 PM ET

I would easily take Montana ahead of Favre.

November 26, 2007  01:22 PM ET

Montana and Marino over Favre

November 26, 2007  01:24 PM ET

Vote for Wallace.

November 26, 2007  01:24 PM ET

Marino debatable. It's all opinions. Montana I believe is the greatest QB of all time.

November 26, 2007  01:25 PM ET

Yeah, I got a vote and I'm not even in this TD!

November 26, 2007  01:27 PM ET

Nobody agrees on a top QB, so I didn't even bother with that. For the record, my top QB is Montana.

November 26, 2007  01:29 PM ET

Good point Rodclo. You already had my vote anyway, but switching his players? Wow.

November 26, 2007  01:32 PM ET

vote for rodclo but i do have to point out that barry also averaged 5 ypc over his career, played 1 more year than brown and had 3k more rushing yards
