SP-Justin Verlander

RP-Rapheal Betencourt

CP-Bobby Jenks

DH-Jhonny Perelta
C-Victor Marinez
1B-Carloc Guillen

CF-Curtis Granderson
RF-Magglio Ordonez

AL East

SP-Josh Beckett
SP-Scott Kazmir
SP-Erik Bedard
SP-Curt Schilling

RP-Hideki Okajima

Closer-Jonathan Papelbon

DH-David Ortiz
C-Jorge Posada
1B-Carlos Pena
2B-Brian Roberts
3B-Alex Rodriguez
SS-Derek Jeter
LF-Carl Crawford
CF-BJ Upton
RF-Bobby Abreu

SP-C.C Sabithia was Cy Young winner, yours was not
SP-Johan is only pitcher in Top 6 in all major pitching catagories
SP-Fausto Carmona had 19 wins, moving right along
SP-Justin Verlander=Cy Young Candidate, Curt Schilling=has been

RP-Rapheal Betancout had ERA of 1.37

CP-I'll give you Paps

DH-Ortiz wins
C-Martinez had about same average with more HRs
1B-Carlos Pena wins
2B-Poly had a .341 average, Roberts did not
3B-No question, A-Rod wins
SS-Rentria had .332 average, he wins
LF-Carl Crawford wins, No good LF in Central
Cf-Granderson became 2nd 20-20-20-20 player, need I say more?
RF-Maggs' stats: .361, 28 HRs, 139 RBIs. Abreu stats: .283, 16 HRs, 101 RBIs

I'll admit your starting pitching is better than mine, but my bullpen is better than yours with Papelbon. I could've thrown Chamberlain in as my relief guy just for his numbers, but he came up too late and too few innings for me to use here. I hadnt really ordered my staff to match up with your pitchers, just listed 4, otherwise I would've had Bedard 2nd, then Kaz then Schill. Just look at Schilling's postseason and tell me he's done, please.

At any rate, my staff is good enough in comparison with yours to make my lineup blow yours away.

DH-Ortiz admittedly on your part
C- about the same average?? .338 compared to .308 isnt about the same, its 30 points difference. Posada's OBP was also 50 points higher and his slugging 40 points higher.
1B-Pena admittedly on your part
2B-Yes, Polanco had a great average, and mediocre everything else. Roberts, while hitting 50 points lower, had almost the same OBP (.377 compared to .388), and since Polanco is only a singles hitter anyway, the times they were on base was basically a wash. Here's where they're seperated, 50 stolen bases for Roberts, 7 for Polanco. So when Roberts gets on, he gets in scoring position.

(cont'd)

At least Polanco can get on base. So what, that's all you have you say? So pretty much what youre saying is that my starting pitchers are better than yours myoutfield isbetter than yours? Thanks, your just supporting my arguement

I said your staff was better overall. I think Beckett is better than CC and Bedard can match up with any of them.

At least Polanco can get on base? Did you read what I wrote? They have the same OBP (thats on base percentage since you must not have gotten that), which means they get on base the same amount. Only my guy has a ton more stolen bases.

Our staff are close, my lineup is head and shoulders above yours. Not even close. So my team is therefore much better.

He has been great this year. He was the only .300 hitter for the tribe, and was a crucial part in the Tribe going to the postseason.
He batted .301 with 25 homeruns and 115 RBIs. 78 runs and a .995 fld pct.
MLB rankings
He ranked 2nd in the for a catcher.
first in homeruns
first in RBIs
second in batting average
third in runs
He was batting .356 with runners in scoring position, and .400 with RISP and 2 outs. Very good clutch numbers, excellent defensivly, and he brought it all year.
I'll wait to see your pick before argueing more.

Edgar Renteria was on the braves the whole season he can't count for your argument so acually Jeter, even thou how much i hate him wins.
You have to give Josh Becket (still a fan of C.C. thou), Okajima, and Shilling more credit wich makes it 8 to 7 in favor of WBcincy

November 27, 2007  06:43 PM ET

ran out of space, i'll have to finish comparing in my next argument

November 27, 2007  07:05 PM ET

I think I could make a lineup out of the players I havent used yet and still have the better bats.

Or make a lineup out of the AL Central guys he DIDNT use that is better than his.
