when Phillip Hughes comes back he will be one of the best pitchers in the AL

i mean cmon look what he did in just his second game as a yankees, he had a no, no goin into the bottom of the seventh, its just too bad he had to pull his hamstring, cause i think he really would have gotted the no hitter.

He was called up from the minors out of desperation by the New York Yankees. Considering that in his first game he add given up four runs in four innings in a loss, and he only made it to six innings in his one noteworthy game. Sure he was pitching a perfect game, but plenty of players have gotten to that point and come up short. Furthermore, even if he had a perfect game it wouldn't make him an elite AL pitcher. Remember David Cone and David Wells? Neither of them should be described as being amongst the, "best pitchers." The AL is stacked with quality starters like Santana, Beckett, Holiday, Beckett, Pettitte, Schil, and Verlander just to name a few. He's a talented, young player, but he is not yet an elite pitcher.

i think that once he is healthy again, which i hope is soon, and when he starts playing again (never ,said when) he will be an elite pitcher, i really thing this guy is gonna be something special to this ball club,

He might be a part of their rotation, but do not expect him to light up the world. He is a talented, young pitcher, but is not nearly one of the best in the AL yet. Phil Hughes had a dud of a first outing, do not expect all of them to be like the second outing.

i owuld give him a chance i mean hes new, talented, and deff has some time to learn, but that time will mold him into one hell of a pitcher

Would you rather have him start a game instead of any of the pitchers I previously named? He might be worth taking a chance on, but not worth be called one of the best in the entire AL.

as much as i'd love that, i don't think so quite yet. next year, though, i have him as the fourth starter. the rotation next year will probably look like this:

Wang
Pettite
Mussina
Hughes
DeSalvo? Wright? Rasner? we'll see with the fifth spot, but i think the first four are pretty concrete.

There is no way that Philip Hughes is physically ready to be an ace at the major league level when he is still only 20 years old, especially after coming off an injury that can be as nagging as a pulled hamstring.

One of the best in the AL? He'll be the fourth-best on his team - AT BEST - behind Wang, Clemens, and Mussina (and possibly Pettitte). He might be one of the best young pitchers, but nowhere near one of the best pitchers in the league.

and dominate
