I think with its 66-14 victory over Connecticut, the West Virginia University Mountaineers made quite a bit of progress in claiming some post season hardware.

The win clinched at least a share of the Big East Conference Championship for the fourth time in the last five seasons, as well as securing the conference's automatic berth in the Bowl Championship Series.

However, a victory over rival Pitt (4-7, 1-6) on Saturday could provide the Mountaineers (10-1, 5-1) with a trophy that every team in the country dreams of: the National Championship.
So I am saying that if West Virgina beats Pitt they are going to go to the BCS bowl championionship

Are looking for an easy win? No duh the Mountaineers will be in the BCS bowl if they win. They're in NOW.

The records just keep shattering this year for the Mountaineers. Midway through the second half, White and Slaton became only the third pair of teammates in NCAA football history to rush for over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons.

And with his 14-yard touchdown catch midway through the first quarter, wideout Darius Reynaud is on the verge of breaking another West Virginia milestone. The reception was No. 11 for the senior, leaving him one shy of tying Chris Henry's 2004 mark for touchdowns in a season. Reynaud is currently tied for fourth in the school's history with 18 career touchdown receptions and needs only two catches to pass Rahsaan Vanterpool for fifth on WVU's all-time receptions list.

Also, if WVU scores 48 points in its final two games, the 2007 team will become the highest-scoring team in school history, overcoming last year's squad, who scored 505 points.

so playing like that they have the BCS in hands

I will now argue myself saying that WVU will WIN the BCS Championship.

Assuming Oklahoma beats Missouri in the Big 12 Championship, that will pit Ohio State vs. WVU. Ohio State has already proved that they cannot stop a spread offense, they just don't have enough speed on either side of the ball. Pat White = a better Juice Williams.

Okay then Esco, suppose Oklahoma does not beat Mizzou. The Tigers have the man who SHOULD win the Heisman in Chase Daniels. They own wins over two top-25 teams, Illinois and Kansas, have actually played a holier-than-thou SEC school, is 6th in the country in scoring, 5th in yards, and West Virginia's D is overrated.

Overrated? They are 7th in the nation in scoring, only giving up 17 points a game. They are 6th in total defense. The Mountaineers have played a holier-than-thou SEC schools, and put 66 (!) on UConn, who some said should play in a BCS game.

WVU will win the NC, Esco.

I disagree, Esco.

Well, we'll have to just agree to disagree.

With the drive for a Big East Conference title reaching its climax and a possible national championship berth growing larger in the windshield, West Virginia University quarterback Patrick White did what most Heisman Trophy candidates do in big games.

He stepped on the gas.

White gashed Connecticut for 186 yards rushing and accounted for three touchdowns in just three quarters of work during the Mountaineers' 66-21 rout of the Huskies on Saturday.
All on an upset stomach, too.

White was vomiting throughout the game. He said he lost his lunch around a dozen times, with the majority of it happening as he was being tackled.

"I don't know if it was something I ate or what," White said. "It wouldn't stay down."

Could you do that

Well, I know now you are cheating (thank you Irish) so my alter egos will continue to debate.

Even if Missouri loses, Ohio State will beat them. They have the #1 defense, are hungry from last year, and the player who should be first in the Heisman, so says Skip Bayless. And if Skip says it, it must be true!

Wow, you're a bigger homer than Guthrie, Mr. Simpson, and the man who wrote Odyssey in one. No way O-State wins. They have played: YSU (didn't even qualify for 1-AA playoffs) Kent State (sucks), Akron (sucks), Washington (sucks) and if they are so hungry, the wouldn't lose to an unranked opponent! If Mizzou loses, Georgia, LSU and Kansas are all more deserving than the Buckeyes. And since when do you listen to Skip Bayless.

Since he started putting Ohio State QBs #1 on his Heisman list. But even when I like what he says, I hate him.
