greg oden is cleary better because oden has defense and hes 7 foot which gives him a huge upside. all kevin durrant can do is score and he wont stop anyone on defense and greg oden has more big game experince than durrant

Have you ever even watch Durant play?? Are you kidding me saying all he can do is score?? I think they will both be great players but you gotta be kidding me. Durant average 1.9 blocks per game, does that mean anything to you? He also averaged a whopping 11.1 rebounds per game. That is more rebounds than your 7 foot boy Gred Oden believe it or not. Your big game experience argument is bogus. Just because Oden played in the NC game does not mean he will be better in the pros. I think both these guys will be great NBA players, but to say all Durant can do is score is just ludicrous

i also think both players will be great but oden will be better name anyother players besides yao and shaq who will be able to guard him and playing in the NC game will only help because he wont have as much nerves as durrant. oden averaged 3.3blks per game and 9.6 boards and he did all of that with a hurt wrist and his offense will only get better in the NBA

you said and I quote "all kevin durrant can do is score". That is a completely ridiculous statement. Oden's hurt wrist did not affect his blocks or boards per game, only his scoring. As for Durant, do you not realize that he carried Texas on his back as a FRESHMAN. A casual fan would assume he was a fifth year senior with the way he played so I seriously doubt he will have more "nerves" than Oden in the NBA. Durant is a COMPLETE player. Along with the stats I mentioned earlier, he also shot over 40% from 3 point range, shot over 80% for free throws. Not too mention that the kid is not done developing yet. In a few years he could be 6???11 and if he bulks up a little bit, there is not a player like him in the NBA.

i know i said that and i still agree with that and if i do belive greg oden is a FRESHMAN too. and oden is a complete player too and his wrist has everything to do with blocks and boards you got to get it up there to get that and he could hurt it again also with the point thing he averaged 15.7 pts per game with the wrist thats only going to go up and after shaq retires there will be only one person who can gurad him striat up and if greg oden gets bigger he will be unstoppable and in that NC game he had 25 points and 12 boards and 4 blks against the best team in the nation

Your already put your foot in your mouth with that boneheaded Durant statement and proved to anyone reading that you didn't watch a single Texas game last year. How can you even make this throwdown if you've never seen both kids play? You think that Shaq and Yao are the only 2 good defensive big men in the league? Marcus Camby, Ben Wallace, Tim Duncan, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, Andrei Kirilenko...All those guys will give Oden problems.

i've seen like 8 of these throwdowns

May 16, 2007  09:12 PM ET

oden fouls to much to put up the same numbers while playing people like yao ming.

May 16, 2007  09:12 PM ET

Enough with the Freakin Durant and Oden throwdowns!

May 16, 2007  09:17 PM ET

I know this is a repetetive throwdown but if I see someone who doesn't know what he's talking about I have to put them in their place.

May 16, 2007  09:19 PM ET

All Oden has is experience almost getting upset by no-name teams...(does Xavier ring a bell)

May 16, 2007  09:23 PM ET

Oden has the most potential but we will have to wait to find out.

May 16, 2007  09:23 PM ET

I think anybody on this site who doesn't know how to spell "Durant" deserves to lose the throwdown. Sorry, dude.

May 16, 2007  09:25 PM ET

I Understand HA 05, the guy shouldn't have started it in the first place

May 16, 2007  09:32 PM ET

Talk about pwnage.

Cubsfan I literally wiped the floor with you. If your gonna make a throwdown you gotta get that weak sh1t out of here and actually try to make a good argument.

May 16, 2007  09:34 PM ET

Oden will be a great NBA All-Star. Durant will be a great NBA All-Star. Both have a huge upside, but Oden's may be more immediate on the defensive end.

oden will be more ready right now, but once durant gains a little wait, he will t-mac x 10
