what do the browns do? get rid of anderson in favor of quinn? make quinn the backup? i say they trade brady quinn and make anderson the qb of the present and future. hes only 24 and is leading the browns to the playoffs. there are plenty of teams who would go after quinn, seeing as though he is still young and has lots of potential. but it would be stupid to let a guy such as anderson go.
Boston 3 Party said 12/02, 06:52 PM
They shouldn't let Quinn go and not see what he can do. I would not want to let either go, but if they let Quinn go they need to play him!
They may be giving up a Tom Brady to a bad team for bad players
Anderson may be having a good year because he may want to make a point.
For example the Saints
After Katrina they wanted to make a point that they are a good team and want to help rebuild NO. This year they are just an ordinary football team. NOWHERE near as good as they were last year.
Another example
Rex Grossman sucked in the begginning of the season! Now he is doing very well. Next year he will get that pain out of being benched by Griesie. He will start to collapse soon.
The Browns need to start Brady b4 they trade him and see his potenscial. Anderson will become a mediocre QB next year because this is a statement season and next year he will be praised, but fail.
****** remember LT last year*******
He was dominant now he has become a normal, good Rb
yankeefan21142 said 12/02, 06:57 PM
the COULD be giving up tom brady. or they could be giving up the guy that never won anything in college, so how will he be good in the nfl. as for the saints. injuries. as for rex grossman. so he had a few good games he will always suck. LT was dominant cause he was on a good team. now theres 8 men in the box every play no wonder he cant go anywhere. anderson will still be just as good next year
Boston 3 Party said 12/02, 07:23 PM
They haven't even played him, so don't trade him yet. Noone will ever know how he plays in the NFL without starting him. We should not be arguing about this yet. When the Browns are garentied a playoff spot or no spot then they might play him.
This game is all about if, shoulds, coulds, may
You need to take a chance to win.
yankeefan21142 said 12/02, 07:28 PM
i say that u bring anderson back play quinn right at the beggining mostly in preseason. but maybe give him some time if the browns fall out of it. or play him this year if they clinch a spot. but u dont get rid of a proven qb for a roll of the dice (chargers, bet they wish the kept brees)

Keep Andersen. He is a sure thing, and a good player. He isn't gonna be your Peyton Manning, but he will be your Ben Roethlisberger.
Quinn has a TON of questions around him. Can he win? Is he really that talented? Does he have the pocket presence and mobility to play and is he too stiff? Is his accuracy good enough? Can he find his targets well?
Andersen is a sure thing, Brady Quinn is not. Andersen will keep you winning, Quinn could bust.
Think of it this way: The Browns may lose a future Hall of Famer if they deal Quinn (though I SERIOUSLY doubt that...). But if they deal Andersen, and stick with Brady, and he busts, they are ****. How can you rebuild from that? How can you explain that to the fans? "Yeah, well, we DID have a talented quarterback. And he was young, and he did become a savior for a god-awful team. But c'mon, we had to deal him. We had to start Brady QUinn, because, well, he is Brady Quinn! Who cares if he busted? We played him!"

"Anderson may be having a good year because he may want to make a point. "
Yup. Man, you won't believe it. I mean, Andersen, with all his talent, once he knows he has locked up the job, I bet he just **** it all up, and doesn't care, and just tries to suck and play as badly as he can.
Sounds plausible.

Why would last year be such a statement season for LT???
Players do NOT consciously choose to be good for a year, and then struggle believe it or not.
Notice how LT's drop off this year has coincided with the whole team dropping off AND a whole new coaching staff? Yeah, no coincidence. As for being a "normal, average back", he had 177 yards and 2 TDs today.
Coming into the weekend, he was second in rushing yards, and first in rushing TDs. So what is your point?

Quinn isn't tradable for several reasons.
First the Browns gave up last years high 2nd round pick plus this years first rounder to draft him late in the 1st round last year...then they made the bonehead decision to pay him early 1st round money instead of what a player slotted at his pick would normally get. There is a reason he fell so far in the draft...other teams simply didn't deem him worthy of a high pick, so why would they now trade a high pick AND overpay him?
More importantly the Browns can't trade Quinn because it would destroy their salary cap. If they traded him, his entire signing bonus would escalate to next year's cap. As long as he's on the team, it's prorated over the life of the contract. You don't give up $7mil in cap space for a guy you traded away.
For better or worse, the Browns are stuck with Quinn for at least a few years. What they do with Anderson is another matter, entirely.

Yankeefan 1st argument:
"i say they trade brady quinn and make anderson the qb of the present and future."
Yankeefan 3rd argument:
"i say that u bring anderson back play quinn right at the beggining mostly in preseason. but maybe give him some time if the browns fall out of it."
Your arguments completely contradict each other.
