1. (Hate to do this) Jimmie Johnson - Back to Back title's.....who comes close??
2. Smoke - 1 title
3. Jeff Gordon - tied Sr with career wins and had a great 07 season
4. Kurt Busch- 1 title and has made the chase every year
5. Dale Jr - NASCAR's most popular driver for 5 years in a row now.....

I say:
1. Jimmie Johnson
2. Jeff Gordon
3. Denny Hamlin
4. Kurt Busch
5. Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Dido to what Coach Gruden said. Denny is a great Driver, but hasn't been in the sport for the past 5 years. You can pick again if you want......

How can you not have Smoke on your list Mario??? THAT'S MADNESS!!

Some other noteable drivers:

Matt Kenseth
Kyle Busch

I'll stick with Johnson and Gordon. I'll also take Kurt and Kyle Busch. For my last driver I'll say Matt Kenseth.

Jimmie Johnson son!

Denny Hamlin's rookie season in any form was in a truck in 2004. He hasn't been a NASCAR driver for the last 5 years.

I'd have to replace Busch with Kenseth. And, as much as I like Jr. I don't think he's been a top 5 driver over the last 5 years.. Even though Carl Edwards hasn't been racing cup for 5 years.. I'd say that he's been a better driver than Jr.

I'd leave Busch, and replace Junior with Kenseth. I can't believe Junior made both lists.

December 7, 2007  04:25 PM ET

I only put Jr on there because 1, I'm a fan (I know, how homer of me) and 2, he has been NASCAR's most popular driver for like the past 5 years.....

Sorry, Johnny, gotta explain it to you: "NASCAR" does not NECESSARILY mean Nextel Cup only. It extends all the way to short-track racing on Friday and Saturday nights.
So, you see, Denny Hamlin HAS been in NASCAR 5 years. I hate to split hairs like that, but...
No vote for EITHER of you.
