Ohio State will beat LSU!

Just look at the records, Ohio State has 1 loss to LSU's 2. Sure both of their losses were in triple overtime but quite a few of their wins were in OT. LSU could've had 3 or 4 losses real easy. Moreover they barely got to the championship game were as Ohio State easily made it. On d LSU has an edge but Boeckman runs an explosive offense that is pherpaps the best suited to LSU defense ( because state's strengh is the passing game where's LSU is a good run d). In the end it will come down to LSU's offense and the Buckeye's d. Ohio State will prevail becuase they have a very solid defense and the tiger's offense weak!

This is there Receiving, Rushing, and Passing:

Passing: Matt Flynn ATT 332 COMP 183 YDs 2233 TD 17

Rushing: Jacob Hester CAR 204 YDs 1017 AVG 5.0 TD 11
Keiland Williams CAR 68 YDs 458 AVG 6.7 TD 6

Receiving: Early Doucet REC 50 YDs 474 AVG 9.5 TD 4
Brandon LaFell REC 48 YDs 641 AVG 13.4 TD 3

This is there passing and rushing: Pass Rush Total
218.9 229.2 448.2

Well look at these stats: Boeckman a 150.3 passer rating ( which reflects all passing stats) to Flynn's 122.5 rating good but not as good. As for the running Chris Wells has 1463 yards and 14 tds. State's d is impressive too. Allowing only 10.7 points per game ( best in nation) Ohio is the best in the nation. Every were you look Ohio State is a better team.

Most of the stuff you say is true but "Every were you look Ohio State is a better team" that is not true at all sure they are #1 but that dosn't mean that "Every were you look Ohio state is a better team".

Ohio State is a better team! Look at the stats, offensively State is superior and on d thet give up less points then LSU. There's nothing more to say Ohio State has got LSU beat almost everywhere!

Almost everywhere you say right the team is great we get it still any team has a chance. LSU has a big chance the team is great ( you can tell by the stats) LSU is a good team you can't just cross them out ( unless they were playing Duke).

I love the Buckeyes, but just to let you know, people HATE Ohio State on here, so don't expect to win this TD.

Ain't it

Lowell you are going to get blown out, just like LSU, wait I said too much I'm reserving all of my smack talk until Jan 8th. Just let the SEC homers keep digging.

Report Offensive Comment

but hey Lowell you got my vote, just be prepared to be overwhelmed by people that give you such arguments as...
"SEC is the Best" (don't tell you why or how, just that JOE82 from Nashville says it is true so it must be)
and
"The Buckeyes don't play anyone" (Again people forget Penn State, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin, but yeah No one)

then there is the
"LSU will win by 50" (somone who goes by the name Skeeter in Louisana, who recently got his GED at the age of 46, again nothing to back it up, but you have to take Skeeter's word here)

LSU barely made it to the championship? It seems that both teams made it in the exact same way; with losses from Missouri and West Virginia.

LSU's offense may have struggled at times, but I would not call them weak. They are averaging similar points-per-game numbers.

LSU 37 pts per game (in regulation -- overtime scores omitted)
OH ST 35 pts per game

Byrd is finally stepping up and becoming a true compliment to Doucet. Lafell is finally learning to catch the ball, and Dickson is a solid TE. After Perrilloux's performance in the SEC Championship, I think the coaches will have more confidence in him throwing the ball on the plays where he is in at QB. In similar situations in the past, where Perrilloux was in the game (instead of Flynn), he has been used as a decoy or has run the ball himself, but he rarely passed. I expect a few shots downfield from Perrilloux.

This may boil down to who can field the healthiest team. If Trindon Holliday can recover from his sprain, he has the potential to turn the tide of the game on special teams or on offense. If Dorsey can play at full strength, he can limit the effectiveness of Ohio States running game. LSU will also need to limit their number of penalties. You would think this would be a gimme, but somehow 13 games into the season and they are still having problems with this.

I am looking for a close game, but with LSU pulling out the win...and yes, I am a homer.

Your friend,
Skeeter

Skeeter,
First off congrats on the GED, quite an honor.

Also you forgot that Ohio State allows fewer points per game than LSU.

Ohio State- 10.7 PPG Allowed
LSU- 19.6 PPG allowed

It will be run to watch

Good point BSchwartz. I am sure there are plenty of stats that I neglected, but I was only trying to counter the argument that LSU's offense was weak.
But I agree, it will be fun to watch.

I take my GED test this weekend, so wish me luck.

OSU sucks!

Report Offensive Comment

LSWho?
OSU in a triple OT win.

Report Offensive Comment

OSU easily made it? My vote goes to fosho because that may be one of the most ludicrous things I have read.

Actually you got in via the backdoor after Oklahoma, Missouri, kansas, and West Virginia all lost in last 2 weekends of college football. OSU didn't earn it; rather, it fell in their laps. It is not as if you controlled your own destiny and took it. Do you deserve to be there ...yes you lost only once no matter how pathetic your schedule was. But "easily" that is a joke

Report Offensive Comment

OSU didn't play anyone who can score... of course they have a low scoring defense. The only team with anything resembling an offense beat them on their home field.

Really 4 win Washington is your big nonconference game.

Here is a trivia question: How many teams did OSU beat that were in top 20 when played them (or hell now)..answer in a moment.

Report Offensive Comment

The answer is ZERO

Report Offensive Comment

ZERO? oh yeah, that's how many teams LSU's coach said they lost to...during the first four quarters of all of their games...
funny he forgot to mention the TWO OT games they lost all together!
OSU will wear out lsu.

Report Offensive Comment

You've gotta come up with something better than LSWho...

because the answer would be 'The Team that didn't lose to Stanford'. Though I am sure USC is ready to declare the Rose Bowl their 'National Championship' again...and probably have some more rings created as well.

Miles won't let it go to triple OT. Miles will rotate in fresh RBs to wear down the defense. Wells is no McFadden and Boeckman is no Woodson.

Report Offensive Comment

Lowell, what you failed to factor in is the strength of schedule. LSU played are FAR tougher schedule than OSU. LSU wins the BCS.... EASILY...over a WELL overmatched OSU team.

Report Offensive Comment

Everyone says that the SEC is a tough conference. But when you say Florida, Kentucky and Tennesee I say Michigan, Illinios and Perdue. The Big Ten had 2 BCS teams how many did the SEC have.

BCS Bowl Games
---------------------------------
Big Ten: 2*
SEC: 2

*...and one of those two BCS participants is a #13 ranked Illinois that somehow bypassed a #6 ranked Missouri that is now left out of a BCS game. Sitting right behind 9-3 Illinois in the rankings is 9-3 Florida, who lost to #2 LSU, #5 Georgia and #23 Auburn. Illinois lost to #6 ranked Missouri and unranked Iowa and Michigan. So the Big Ten should feel pretty fortunate to have gotten the Rose Bowl bid.

Non-BCS Bowl Games
---------------------------------
Big Ten: 5
SEC: 7

Teams Ranked in the Top 25
---------------------------------
Big Ten: 3 (1 in the top 5)
SEC: 5 (Two in the top 5)

Connecticut, huh? I wonder if they're able to watch any SEC games up there.

No these are good points made by Lowell. On paper, Ohio State definitely has the edge in a lot of major categories. On paper, it looks as if Ohio State is a big mismatch for LSU. On paper, it looks as if both teams are evenly sized and equally talented.

That's just it, though. It's very complex and sometimes confusing to many fans outside the SEC country (and inside Big Ten country). When they judge the teams, they use their eyes, and they focus them on the whole team at once. Stats totally favor Ohio State (and buckeye faithful think SEC fans are dillusional homers for thinking this), but they just don't look as explosive as they should. The SEC fans hooted and hollered this time last year that they had more power and speed than the Buckeyes; they were right.

A healthy LSU team is the worst-possible scenario for Ohio State, and looks as if this layoff will assure that. LSU 38 OSU 25
