Try to make at least 4 differences per side of the ball. Again, only one player from each school.

Following your instructions and requests...

QB: Tom Brady (Michigan)*
RB: Larry Johnson (PSU)
FB: Mike Alstott (Pur)*
WR: Plexico Burress (MSU)*
WR: Randel El (Ind)
TE: Ben Utecht (Minn)*
OL: Joe Thomas (Wisconsin)
OL: Orlando Pace (OSU)
OL: Brandon Moore (Ill)*
OL: Eric Steinbach (Iowa)*
OL: Trai Essex (Northwestern)*

DL: Tamba Hali (PSU)
DL: Simeon Rice (ILL)
DL: Adewale Ogunleye (Ind)
DL: Will Smith (OSU)*
LB: Rosevelt Colvin (pur)*
LB: Julian Peterson (MSU)
LB: Napoleon Harris (Northwestern *
CB: Charles Woodson (Mich)
CB: Jamar Fletcher (wisc)
S: Tyrone Carter (Minn)
S: Bob Sanders (Iowa) *

Ok, as I count them, there's atleast 4 differences per side - and yes, i know i took Clark's backup TE as my TE, but this was one of those differences i tried to force

Lets see...

Alstott retired at the beginning of the year.

Ben Utecht is Dallas Clark's back up.

Edwards has more yards, touchdowns, 1st downs, 20+ yard gains, a higher YPC, a higher 1st down %, more receptions, more YPG and fewer drops than Plaxico.

Hawk has more tackles, assists, INTS, fumble recoveries, and deflections than AJ Hawk.

I'll be watching the Heisman, so it might take me a while to respond.

well let me start off by saying sweet TD idea...i really enjoyed it...

second, according to all sources I've seen, Alstott hasn't retired, he was merely placed on IR for the season. So he is techincally still active in the NFL

Ok, I have Tom Brady on my team, he is uncomparable to anyone else that came out of the big 10. He has better numbers than Brees, plus he has the rings

Edwards - this year: 62 1043 12 playing healthy
career: 155 2439 21

Plex: this year: 55 764 9 while playing as questionable since week 3
career: 455 7130 48

since you didn't specify it had to be this year, I was looking at their careers, and so far, I'd take Plex

You left off Tom Brady and Bob Sanders. Arguably the two best at their positions!!!

Also, I'll take Charles Woodson over Ty Law ANY DAY

will smith: 45 tackles 5 sacks 1FF
castillo: 27 tackles 1.5 sacks 0FF

so lets see (since it's for careers), I take QB, if Alstott is eligible, I get RB's, Plex>Edwards for career, and I get DL's and DB's.

You get TE's and LB's and we'll call OL a push

so i got it at 5-2-1 for me

Ty Law is the 20th all time in interceptions with 54 interceptions. Woodson only has 26. You wanted to play whole career, lets do it. Law has 411 career tackles, Woodson only 364. Ty Law has 52 passes defended, Woodson only 46. Law has 3 Super Bowl rings, Woodson has 1. Law has 7 TDs, Woodson 4. So I believe that is a win for me.

Mike Alstott isn't even listed in Tampa Bay's roster anymore, so no, he doesn't count anymore. He retired after being placed on IR.

So I got RB, TE, LB, and CB. You got QB, WR, DL and S. OL is a tie.

4-4-1.

he isn't listed on the roster because he is on INJURED RESERVE (IR)

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp07/news/story?id=2967306 - thats ESPN (might be career but isn't yet therefore he is still eligible)

So you don't have RB, I'll give you CB even though i picked woodson to make the 4th difference you asked for...

Assuming Alstott is eligible and me being generous (see below) therefore its 5-3-1

But if you want to insist on Alstott being ineligible, i will insist on taking the linebackers then since we are looking at career numbers:

Career stats
colvin: 365 tackles 52.5 sacks 3 ints 1 TD
Harris: 412 tackles 7.5 sacks 4 ints

A.J. Hawk: 201 tackles 3.5 sacks 3 ints 0 TDS
Chad Greenway: 70 tackles 0 sacks 2 ints 1 TD

So i win this way 5-3-1

EITHER WAY - I got the better team

(cool TD though...this list took me forever to do and make different than yours - damn NW and Illinois)

I'd vote Esco as I loved the topic, but no vote because both teams were well thought out.

Again, great TD.
