ya im a jets fan. so what. there still going to win. think about it. the patriots want tom brady and randy moss to get their records, but dont want them hurt or tired or anything like that. so they rest them against the jets. this allows them to get their rest, then play the first half in miami and get the records. then they can sit the second half for rest, but still not be rusty.

Not a chance this side of the sun. They'll build a lead early against a terrible team, then if they decide, they'll rest the starters. But they'll still do enough to win the game. They didn't get to 13-0 by laying down. They want the undefeated season like you want a winning TD record.
Besides, they get two weeks off before their first playoff game...and honestly, nobody on the team is hurting and needs the rest.
In the end, history is their goal. First 16-0 regular season team. Then the ultimate, 19-0 with the playoffs.
No sir, they won't lose to the Jets. Nobody should.

i no this is about the biggest stretch in the world, but i think its gona happen. the pats dont care about undefeated, and dont want to be accused of cheating again. of course that brings up the point that bellichek wants to crush mangini for being a rat, but i dont think hes gona risk a sb on it. and honestly i could care less about my td record. this isnt exactly an easy win...

Honestly, if you don't think the Pats care about an undefeated season, then you've lost a lot more than this TD....You've lost your mind. Ever since they were accused of cheating, they've been on a mission to win every game by as many points as humanly possibly. They're playing with a chip on their shoulders, and that chip will be larger against the Jets than against any other team.
Look at this weekend. Pittsburgh safety GUARANTEES a win. New England destroys and embarrasses the idiot all game long. Why? Chip on their shoulder. They'll do the same thing against the team that started the whole cheating story in the first place. YOu can look for a 42-7 score, New England winning. It won't be any closer than that, book it.
yankeefan21142 said 12/10, 06:44 PM
they have a chip. but wont risk the whole season on it.
Gruden crushes poker tables said 12/10, 06:51 PM
I see, so basically, your 3rd argument is exactly the same as your 1st and 2nd. Interesting.
Did you notice that this game is a home game for New England? You want them to play a home game to LOSE, against one of their biggest rivalries. You must be seriously joking.
And honestly, Matt Cassel could start for New England and beat the Jets. They are a pitiful team who has three wins all season. TWO against Miami, and one against a highly overrated Pittsburgh team. New England won 38-14 the first time, in New Jersey. The won't be so generous at home.

Report Offensive CommentJesus. All the anti-Pats out there can get some satisfaction now. There's no logical argument supporting why the Jets would win.
Ridiculous.

Report Offensive CommentThat being said, I do thank you Yankeefan for starting and finishing a TD in 20 minutes. A very rare person on Fannation. I'll gladly TD anytime with you.

Ravens were 4-7 when they tested the Pats and Clemens is better than Boller
Jones is a solid enough RB to test that suddenly suspect run defense
Pats are not going 16-0......Ironic if Jets or Fins pull the upset instead of Giants

They are playing better football than they have all season and if Pats come in expecting a gimme......They will leave 13-1

Report Offensive CommentI picked the Ravens to beat the Pats and 2 poor officiating calls, 1 bad T.O. call by the Ravens and some WAY TOO CONSERVATIVE offense in the last 3 drives by the Ravens and they lose by 3. I am a Jets fan as well... have been for almost 40 years. The Jets beat the Pats last year in NE. The Jets have nothing to lose at all, pride to play for and a chip on their shoulder as well. The Pats have NOTHING to prove, are supposed to win by 4 TDs and have played to shoddy ball 10 of the last 12 quarters. Final score: Jets 31 Pats 27.....
