With the improvement in Jackson and the running game, Vikings can beat any of the heavies. The are of course, Romo, Favre, and Brady.

Okay, didn't the Vikings lose to the Packers not once, but TWICE??? And in those two games, AD was held to only 157 yards combined. He got twice that versus the Chargers.

Tarvarius Jackson, while he has improved as of late, still has only the 27th ranked QB rating in the NFL. And we can't discount the fact that against the Cowboys, he had a QB rating of 44.2, only completed 31% of his passes and only had 72 yards and was sacked 3 times.

The Vikes are dead last in passing defense, and vs. the 'Boys, Tony Romo had 277 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Brett Favre tossed for 344 yards and 2 tds in Week 4, and 351 and 3 in Week 10. Those two are their main competition in the NFC and they don't stack up well vs. them.

Holy crap, Esco, ease up. Give the kid some room. Joe Capp passed for 7 TDs in 1969 against the Colts. I look at Jackson to do 5 TDs in one game before the regular season ends. If He can do this, and with the running game of Peterson and Chester, AND the VIKING DEFENSE, well, I don't see how they can loose.

Whaaa....???? 5!? You do know Minnesota is 31st in the NFL in passing offense, right? Thats a little much from a guy who was only thrown 6 all year. Now, I do think Minnesota will make the playoffs. Lets say the playoff tree looked like this:

Wild Card Round:
Vikings @ Seahawks. The Vikes could pull this one out. AD runs for 130 and 1 TD against Seattle. But, Jackson throws a pick in the 4th quarter on the three yard line that almost kills the season. Thankfully for them, Pat Williams stuffs Mo Morris on 4th and 1. Minnesota preserves the win.

Divisional.
Vikings @ Cowboys. Not even close. Romo throws for 300 yards, 3 TDs, and shreds the Vikings apart. AD has no luck against Dallas' 4th ranked running D. Jackson only throws for 65 yards and gets picked off 4 times.

Thus ends the 2007 Minnesota Vikings season. You can't win the Super Bowl without getting out of the second round.

Minnesota's rushing game and rushing D is one of a championship. But their dreadful passing game and pass defense will be their ultimate downfall, with Dallas, GB, and then (if they make it) the Patriots who are all allergic to running. Once they improve those two areas then maybe.

"Vikings can beat any of the heavies. The are of course, Romo, Favre, and Brady."

Uh, they are already 0-3 against Dallas and GB and you REALLY think the worst pass defense in the NFL could beat the best passing team in perhaps the history of the game?

December 12, 2007  05:34 PM ET

Okay, for one thing, the Pats are in the Pats league. The Vikings are in the Black and Blue league. Doesn't anyone know about the Black and Blue??? Did Dallas beat the Lions? Yes, but by how much? Did Dallas beat the Packers? Yes, but Favre was hurt and went out early. Did the Vikings beat the Packers? No, but they will.....

Cooper pass that joint over here. Your bogarting it. The Vikes are putting a team together but won't compete this year.

Longwell can also pass when he gets in trouble so, he is likely to be troublesome in close games.
