The Top 2 Best and Worst #1 Picks in the NFL Draft since 1995

Best
1. Peyton Manning
2. Carson Palmer

Worst
1. Ki-Jana Carter
2. Mike Vick - Okay, everyone knows what happened with Vik, but this TC is not based on what happened off the field. It is what happened on the field and Mike Vick performed much better than Ki-Jana.

My list -
Best
1. Peyton Manning - agreed
2. Carson Palmer - agreed

Worst
1. Ki Jana - certainly a bust and belongs on this list
2. Tim Couch. Stats wise - Couch and Vick are nearly even in passing. But Vick threw 71 TD's to 52 INT's where Couch threw 64 TD's to 67 INT's. Also Vicks running ability made him much more valuable an asset. Couch lasted 5 years, Vick 6. Vick lead his team twice to the playoffs. Couch is the worse pick.

Only one difference? Okay then.

Vick vs. Couch

Couch was on a far worse teams that Vick so the fact that Vick led his team to the playoffs twice isn't a fair statement because they weren't on the same team. Vikc only completed 53.8% of his passes while Couch completed nearly 60%. Couch had 95 more completions than Vick despite playing in less games. Couch also had very little running game to compliment his passing. The running backs that were on the Browns during Couch's run were William Green, James Jackson, and Travis Prentice. Vick had Warrick Dunn who had 3 seasons with Vick where he had over 1,000 rushing yards. Couch never had a rusher get up to 900 yards while he was playing. When Couch left Jeff Garcia come in and he had his first season ever under 2,500 yards. That shows how bad the team Couch played on was.

Before Vick, the Falcons were a 4-12 team - so not very good either. While Vick was never known as a great passer - his running ability was a solid complement to the Falcons offense. He gained over 1,000 rushing his last year, ran for 777 his 2nd year and over 900 in 2004. This clearly made up for whatever he lacked as a passer. Couch played on a bad team, but remember was booed off the field in GB (preseason even) after he left Cleveland. Vick arguably still had potential left when he had to leave the game. Couch is still pathetically looking for a team to give him a chance - which no one will because he was never that good an NFL QB in the first place.

I have two typos. It should say Vicknot Vik and TD not TC.

That comment should say "Vick not" not "Vicknot". I can't spell for some reason today.

I wanted this so bad...

Couch is much worse than Vick. Much, much worse.

Report Offensive Comment

Couch is defintely worse. Easy win for thugmeister

Why would you ever put Vick on that list? He was (prolly still is, but for the wrong reasons) the most recognizable player in the NFL, the top jersey seller, a human highlight reel. He revitalized football in ATL and made them a winner. What has Tim Couch ever done that would make him better than Vick? He got out of the league faster, I guess he is better in that department.

Yeah, I messed this up terribly.

Well, I know when something is doomed and this is definitely doomed.
