I am going to take Romeo Crennel. He's got his team in playoff contention. No one at the beginnning of the year would have ever suspected that the Browns would be competing for a playoff spot. Everyone thought Brady Quinn would be the starter by this time.
MyLife=Sports said 12/16, 03:49 PM
I am going to say that the NFL coach of the year is Wade Phillips. Wade Phillips is the NFL Coach of the year because his team is 13-1. He helped bring his team to the best record of the Cowboys history. I just think that if you help your team do that much, that you are the NFL Coach of the year. Plus, he has just been a very good coach and the Cowboys have had wins against good teams. That is why he is the NFL Coach of the year.
badgerfan07 said 12/16, 03:55 PM
I dont think Wade Phillips is coach of the year because he got a good team to play to their potential...while Romeo Crennel has a relatively young team and there wasnt the expectation of anything with this team. If you wold have asked most people they would have told you that they thought the Browns would have a top 5 pick in this coming up NFL draft. Crennel has made the Browns relevant again in playoff talk
MyLife=Sports said 12/16, 04:25 PM
Crennel has made the Browns relevant in playoff talk, but so did Derek Anderson. Romeo Crennel also has a good team. He has a good QB, a good RB, and good WRs and TE. Wade Phillips is a better choice because his team only has 1 loss and the best record in Cowboys history. The Browns have been average, and the Cowboys have been good. Wade Phillips the NFL Coach of the Year.
badgerfan07 said 12/17, 02:31 PM
But look at how the Browns were before this year..they were terrible a year ago. Average is good for the Browns. The Cowboys last year were at least a playoff team. Wade Phillips has a good QB, 2 good RB's, a good WR and a good TE, that's just good management. At the beginning of the year everyone thought the Cowboys would be good...but who thought the Browns would be good? Probably not even many Browns fans.
MyLife=Sports said 12/17, 05:23 PM
If the Cowboys had a bad head coach, I don't think they would be where they are at. Plus, he had to decide his starting QB, the leader of the team, by a coin toss. How is that a coach of the year if you can't decide who you starting QB is before the season. I think that a coach that leads his team to the best record in franchise history, would be the NFL Head Coach of the Year. I would also put Mike McCarthy and Romeo Crennel close behind though. Then Bilichick.

I would take the guy from Green Bay.

Report Offensive CommentNo one for that genius in New England. I know "Spygate" hurts his case, but if the Pats go undefeated, how can he not get it?

Report Offensive CommentI know, I wasn't thinking at the minute.
Mike McCarthy wasn't expecting this, and neither was I.

Report Offensive CommentCrennel was on a super hot seat after last year. Now, he has a pretty big security blanket. His team was expected to do nothing. For Tampa, they got a good QB in Garcia and they improved their D. Cleveland is much more surprising. Crennel made a great decision in starting Anderson after Week 1.

Report Offensive CommentNo way for Wade Phillips you,me and the bum on the street can coach that team. Coach of the year has to go with Crennel getting the Browns back to the playoffs.

Report Offensive CommentI can't vote Coach of the Year for a guy who had to flip a coin to decide his starter before the year began.

Report Offensive CommentMike McCarthy is the best and there should be no question. Look at any ranking of the top 4 teams in the NFL and the Packers are on that list. Go back to preseason rankings and tell me where anyone thought that would happen. The Packers were picked to go worse than .500 and people were shocked that the "old and washed up" Favre should retire. Voting for Wade Phillips is like voting for Barry Switzer after Jimmy built that team and Barry won the Superbowl. Obviously Parcels built everything there is in Dallas right now.
Favre should win MVP as well...does more with less than any player in the league.
