5 teams that were supposed to rock that dont. in order
1.saints-sb favorites
2.chargers-other sb favorites
3.bears-considered one of the best nfc teams
4.rams- supposed to have an amazing offense and go deep in the playoffs
5.jets-they did make the playoffs last year and seemed to have a bright future

Ok top 5 teams that were supposed to have great seasons, but didn't.
#1- Baltimore Ravens 13-3 a year ago, currently 4-10 (add to that they lost to Miami)
#2- NY Jets 10-6 a year ago, now the Mangenious has them at 3-11
#3- St. Louis Rams 8-8 a year ago, upgraded the WR's this off-season and expected to contend for the NFC, now they sit at 3-11
#4- Denver Broncos- 9-7 and upgraded at CB, RB, WR, TE, DT, DE all of those changes and they are 6-8 already worse than a year ago.
#5- Chicago Bears 13-3 with a Super Bowl bid a year ago, now they are 5-8 and have no hope of a repeat appearance.
In your argument you have the Chargers and Saints. SD will clinch a playoff spot with a win today, and the Saints are still very much in the wild card race in the NFC. Hard to pick playoff teams as the BIGGEST disappointments of the NFL.

there big dissapointments because they were supposed to run away with it. you could see the ravens collapse coming. the defenders are all a year older and a step slower. and thomas is gone. you could see mcnair falling apart, and they dont have any great recievers, just average. you could see their collapse coming. its hard to say because i saw them winning it all this year, but after the first couple games you could see the season was going downhill fast

Let me tell you a little story,
The 2004 Pittsburgh Steelers finished the season at 15-1 only to lose in the playoffs, a year later they didn't win their division. They looked to be watching the playoffs at home, but snuck in with the final spot. Those Steelers went on to win the Super Bowl.
So were the 2005 Steelers a disappointment? No! The moral or the story is that your goal is to make the playoffs, once you are there anything can happen. So teams that are going to the playoffs are not disappointments, just yet.
As for the Ravens, last I checked Thomas wasn't the centerpiece of that D, and they have never been a dominate offensive team. This off-season they got what they thought was a huge upgrade at RB, and now they are kind of a punch line around the league.

if they thought mcgahee was a huge improvement then they should kill themselves. thomas played just about every posistion know to man. im saying dissapointment for the regular season and these teams were supposed to be the 14-2 chargers,. somewhere along those lines
BSchwartz07 said 12/16, 06:46 PM
I really don't think that Thomas won 9 games last season single handedly. But that is just me.
And yes a young McGahee over an aging Jamal Lewis seemed like a good move.
Again I will tell you, your goal is to make the playoffs, the Chargers are on pace to be in the same spot as either the Pats or Colts of a year ago, while they may not be 14-2 they are still in the hunt. And the Saints are 1 game out of a wild card spot, plus a lot of people felt they played with a lot of emotion last season that would be hard to match this year. Also you can't expect too much when you lose your starting RB early in the season for the season.
Thus Baltimore and Denver have had more disappointing seasons than New Orleans or San Diego.
