Matt Moore deserves to start the rest of the games for Carolina and show Panthers fans what they have to look forward to as he is clearly the future

Moore completed 19 of 27 passes for 208 yards against a solid Seattle defense that ranks 13th in the NFL

With a WR like Steve Smith they need a young QB like Moore with a cannon for an arm to go deep

For those not familiar with Matt Moore, he played football at Hart HS in Santa Clarita valley before attending UCLA.....He transferred to College ofthe Canyons after a dispute over playing time and eventually ended up at Oregon State where he displayed a rocket arm although he was inconsistent.....

He was not drafted but played briefly for the Cowboys but was released and claimed off waivers by the Panthers

I think Matt Moore did a great job yesterday. I think he will do great with Steve Smith. But don't start fooling ourselves he played a great game. But I don't think he deserves the go-ahead to finish the rest of the season. See how he handles next week against Dallas. He is still learning.. he looked kind of shaky in the beginning but he pulled together a few nice completions. It's too early to determine that he should start for the rest of the season. He could be very well the future of Carolina only time will tell.. Vinny is still pretty solid.

Moore did a good job against a pretty solid defense.....

What was particularly impressive was his completion %=70.3%.....In college he was around 60% completion and had 29 TD's to 26 INT's at OSU.....He overthrew guys way too often and while displaying a gun for an arm, he wasnt good at competing the short yardage throws=not very accurate.....

Yesterday he did a great job of not making any mistake's against a ball hawking secondary that has allowed just 10 TD's but have 20 INT's

Moore didn't get any td's yesterday. But he threw for about 206 yards? That's good.. but you can't name your starting QB for the rest of the season after 1 game. Not unless you have Vinny in the picture and Delhomme will probably be starting next year unless he gets traded. 1 good game for a guy that isn't seeing much field minutes can not determine your starter...

Delhomme hasnt done much since they went to Super Bowl

Vinny was signed only cause they were desperate for a QB with a pulse

Carr has shown he can do nothing

Moore is younger and they have a pretty good defense if they are healthy

They have a running game with Williams and Foster

Let him play and if he struggles next year, they can always go to Delhomme

Delhomme has 626 yards, 8 Td's, 1 INT, and a 64% completion.
In a total of only 3 games. Those are great numbers right there. You're telling me he hasn't done much since their time in the superbowl?

Vinny is a solid back-up in my opinion. Carr is garbage. Moore has plenty of time to start on the team.

Delhomme's time has run out. He got the Panthers to the Super Bowl in 2003, and hasnt been able to do much else along with getting hurt since.

Carr is an automatic-sack-machine.

Give Moore the keys...and then, blow up the rest of the team. Get rid of bums like Deshaun Foster, reconfigure the defense...guys are getting old(i.e. Rucker, Jenkins, and that safety who's name escapes me) John Fox needs to go. He's an idiot. The Panthers team is as horrible through and through as I've ever seen.

December 17, 2007  11:04 AM ET

Delhommes stat line before he was hurt.

55 cmp. 86 att. 624 yds. 64.0 cmp % 8 TD 1 INT

Give Delhomme next season and see how things go. He gives them the best chance to win right now. Why blow up a solid team decimated by injuries, especially with so much parity in the league? They could be in the SB next year who knows.

December 17, 2007  11:09 AM ET

Delhomme was just playing ok and at this stage is a decent QB but sit em and if Moore struggles next year they can always bring him in

December 17, 2007  11:09 AM ET

Delhomme doesnt have a great arm like Moore does.....Moore has a much better arm and can go deep like they want to with Smith

December 17, 2007  11:13 AM ET

But I don't think he deserves the go-ahead to finish the rest of the season. See how he handles next week against Dallas.

????

They only have 2 game's left and arent making the playoffs

December 17, 2007  11:15 AM ET

Delhomme has a great arm.. are you in love with Moore or something? This is an obsession like your Lakers obsession..

December 17, 2007  11:19 AM ET

Ummmmm, no

December 17, 2007  11:19 AM ET

Dont have a Lakers obsession

Passionate about my teams and can argue intellectually and objectively

December 17, 2007  11:23 AM ET

Haha intellectually? I think you cussed at me in the other throwdown.

December 17, 2007  11:31 AM ET

I think I remember more big plays coming with Delhomme in the lineup, and that was only for 3 weeks.

Steve Smith w/ Delhomme
7 Rec. 118 Yds. 16.9 Avg. 1 TD

8 Rec. 153 Yds. 19.1 Avg. 3 TD

In two games playing with Delhomme he had 1/4 of his season stats. They have great chemisty together and should be given a full season w/ a healthy team to showcase what they can do.

December 17, 2007  11:34 AM ET

Delhomme is 32 and prone to injury

Moore is the future

December 17, 2007  11:36 AM ET

Who cares about age? Look at Brett Favre he's doing great.

Thats nice that you think Moore is the future.. maybe we should wait until the future comes.

December 17, 2007  11:36 AM ET

They were 2-1 with Delhomme vs ATL, St Louis and Houston

With Moore, they are 1-0 vs Seattle as starting QB

December 17, 2007  11:37 AM ET

At 6-8 the future is now

December 17, 2007  11:40 AM ET

Moore didn't get any td's which means he was probably playing it safe and letting the RB run it in. 1 Game can't tell your teams future.

December 17, 2007  11:50 AM ET

Delhomme has steadily declined ever since taking them to the SB and that is why many Carolina fans have been clamoring for Fox to do something

December 17, 2007  11:52 AM ET

No I didnt cuss u Mikey

Other people were cussing me out

I did get frustrated because I had a way better argument and a bunch of hosers just voted for u cause I have had some run-ins with those people

December 17, 2007  12:09 PM ET

"Delhomme has steadily declined ever since taking them to the SB and that is why many Carolina fans have been clamoring for Fox to do something."

Well after this year they should be asking for him to come back healthy, because as his injury has shown they are much better with him in the lineup then w/o him. How is starting the season 2-1 with 8 TD's and only 1 INT showing a decline? Have you looked at his stats?

Delhomme 2003-2006

266 cmp. 449 att. 59.2 cmp. % 3219 yds. 7.2 avg. 19 TD 16 INT

310 cmp. 533 att. 58.2 cmp. % 3886 yds. 7.3 avg. 29 TD 15 INT

262 cmp. 435 att. 60.2 cmp. % 3421 yds. 7.9 avg. 24 TD 16 INT

263 cmp. 431 att. 61.0 cmp. % 2805 yds. 6.5 avg. 17 TD 11 INT

Thats the model of consistency. Oh and FYI he had only missed 3 games prior to this year.

December 17, 2007  12:14 PM ET

TD's have gone down every year since the SB

And yards

This year???

St Louis and Atlanta suck, Houston is just average

December 17, 2007  12:28 PM ET

Actually they went up and he missed 3 games last year. So what if those teams suck. You can't help who you play against. You're a big stats guy over resonable arguments a lot of the time, so there are your stats which trumps your resonable argument.
