Kyle Singler VS Derrick Rose

Im gonna have to take Singler. Both of these guys are "diaper dandies" and look to lead thier teams for the next 2 years. Singler has shown he can be the dominant shooter Duke is famous for having. He also has shown so far this year that he can be the leader of this team, by stepping up and making the big shots. He is also very versatile, playing SG, SF, and PF.


Yeah I am going to have to go with my boy D Rose.
Derrick is a born leader since he picked up a basketball lets take a look at these 2 players stats so far this season.

Derrick Rose
PPG 15.7 RPG 5.1 APG 4.1 FGP .489

Kyle Singler
PPG 13.4 RPG 6.0 APG 1.2 FGP .538

Looking at the stats we see that Rose leads in PPG and APG.
He is a better passer then Singler and scores more points on average.
Another thing to look at here is Singler only averages 1 more RPG then Rose and Rose is a PG. To me that says Rose is more atheletic the Singler.

The main difference to me here is the fact that Rose has been better for a long time he was great before he ever went on a college court and many have him taken very high in this years NBA draft.

In high school he won 2 state rings he came in to college basketball as the #1 PG in the nation ( Rivals.com ).
This guy and flat out play and is to me better then Kyle Singler


Rose is the second leading scorer on a team featuring only two players scoring over 9 ppg. Singler is the leading scorer on a team that feature 5 players over 9 ppg. Also singler is the tid for the leading rebounder on Duke. And the reason he doesnt get many assists is because Duke has always run a 3 guard lineup, forcing him to play pf most of the time. And alot of the assists go to dnel because he is the leader and plays point when the only freshman in acc history to lead the league in assists isnt in. for those who didnt know thts paulus. so why would you have your pf handle the ball alot when you have such talent? Duke is such a balanced team, and singler leads them in 2 out of the 3 catagories you listed above. When MJ was on Dream Team his stats werent as gaudy because he didnt have to do everything. Singler doesnt have to do everything, he just does because that is the player he is. Rose has nothing other than roberts-douglas. they rely on him more.

I'm from Southern Oregon and got to watch Singler a lot. This kid is the real deal. Great scorer, tenacious rebounder. Needs to still bulk up more, work on his defense and endurance. I personally would take him over Rose, but I am so horribly biased here I don't think I should vote.

its gotta be Rose. Playing point on a top 5 team as a freshman is probably the hardest thing to do in college and Rose is doing one hell of a job.

oh and actually last year ishmael smith led the ACC in assists as a freshmen. amazingly the top three in assists were all freshmen. Paulus? he was 11th.
