'Ey Capernicus - O'Connell! said 12/22, 10:03 PM
Make an all-NFL team following my format. You cannot have two players from the same team and you cannot pick a player from a team that is leading their division(Patriots, Colts, Steelers, Chargers, Cowboys, Packers, Buccaneers, Seahawks). Therefore you cannot have two Jaguars for example. This is based on this season.
QB - Drew Brees, Saints
RB - Brian Westbrook, Eagles
RB - Adrian Peterson, Vikings
WR - Chad Johnson, Bengals
WR - Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals
WR - Braylon Edwards, Browns
TE - Tony Gonzales, Chiefs

QB-David Garrard (I think he is a little bit better under pressure than Brees because he only has 2 int's this year!
RB-Brian Westbrook
RBAdrian Peterson
WR-TJ Houzmanzadah
WR. Larry Fitz
WR Braylon Edwards
TE Cooley

Drew Brees has been very good this season. Garrard only beats Brees in yards per attempt, QB rating, and INTs. Brees has thrown so many interceptions because he leads the league in attempts therefore having more chances to throw interceptions. Brees blows Garrard away with 1,500 more yards! Brees also has 9 more touchdowns. Even though Brees also has a higher completion %.
Houshmendzadeh might have 16 more receptions than Chad Johnson, but Ocho Sinco has 200 more yards. He also has 17 more yards per game along with almost 5 more yards per catch. Chad also has more first downs. The only other category TJ beats him in is touchdowns. Also, since Chad attracts so much attention it leaves TJ a chance to get open and catch the ball.
As for Tony and Cooley, Gonzales has more yards, catches, yards per game, and first downs. Cooley beats him in yards per catch, but only by .1 yards and he beats him in touchdowns and that is only by 2. Tony has 200 more yards than Cooley and nearly 20 more yards per game. Tony has been better and more reliable.

Yeah, but Houzmanzadah has 11 td's! Chad does not have that many. Who cares about oucho cinco's 200 extra yards. The more td's for the te's the better. I still like Cooley. I'm not high on Drew Brees against a good defense is questionable. Garrard plays decent against the Colts last time while Brees struggled. Yeah, and on TJ he is a probowler and what is Chad?
'Ey Capernicus - O'Connell! said 12/23, 05:34 PM
Like I said earlier, Ocho Sinco attracts attention from defenses allowing TJ to get open and score. It is easier for TJ to score. Although Brees has had more trouble, he has been missing Deuce McAlister and Reggie Bush hasn't been able to run the ball. This causes defenses to focus mostly on the passing game. In Garrard's case his running game is unbelievable and it is the main focus of opposing defenses. Tony gonzales has clearly been more reliable with 12 more catches. If you think that receptions help TJ over Chad than receptions give Tony a clear cut advantage over Cooley. Cooley has 2 games with only 1 catch and 2 with only 2 catches while Tony hasn't had a game with less than 3 receptions all year.

Yeah, we have all heard the Ocho Cinco deal. Yeah, Brees still has weapons without Duece McCallister and Reggie Bush, He has Colston, Henderson, and Patten has been ballin. Yeah, the TE is not a huge weapon on teams usually. Cooley has more td's so that's all I need to know. Gonzales is one fo the best TE's ever but he is NOT better than Cooley this year.

YOu shouldn't really use Yards and yards per game in the same analysis as they are both the same thing.
