PHIMan - PHILS NLCS! said 12/24, 08:00 AM
It is this season only and it is in no order.
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Ben Roethilsberger
Derek Anderson
David Garrard
Brady has thrown for 48 TD's and only 8 INT. That is amazing and only needs 2 more TD's to break Mannings TD record. Brady also has thrown for 4450 yards and a QB rating of 117.2. He is a potential MVP candidate and why not with the year he is having.
Peyton Manning has gone this season without Harrison for the most part, but still has managed to throw 31 TD's and 14 INT and 3945 yards. He has a QB rating of 96.0. It is not his best year, but still is a good year and he has had no Harrison a lot.
Roethilsberger has thrown 32 TD's and only 11 INT for 3154 passing yards. He has a QB rating of 104.1 which is 2nd best in the AFC. He averages 7.8 per pass and does not really have an amazing WR to throw to.
Anderson has had a nice breakout season. He has thrown 28 TD's and 18 INT. He has thrown for 3636 passing yards and with an average of 7.2 yards per pass. He has a QB rating of 82.7.
Garrard does not turn the ball over much. He has 18 TD's to only 3 INT. That is impressive. He has 2509 yars and a QB rating of 102.2 (3rd in AFC).

I'll take this one
I'll even rank them for you
1. Tom Brady
2. Peyton Manning
3. Ben Rothsdkasdlawdcmlekma-ger
4. Brady Quinns backup
5. Carson Palmer
David Garrard is good - and a great manager of the game- but compared to Carson Palmer?
1. Palmer has a better completion Percentage
2. Palmer has tosses for 3700 yards- David only 2310 (17th in the NFL- right under Skins and Zona QB's - Carson is 5th)
3. First Downs- gotta move the chains in the NFL- Palmer has moved those chains 191 times- David on 117 times - 19th in the NFL - Carson in 4th)
Next lets look at some of the advantages that Palmer does NOT have.
1. Running backs- MJD and Fred taylor vs the Rudi Toodi pu-pu platter
2. Ocho has been gone- true TJ Houasdhndsdakdah is better than anyone on the Jags- but he is the Number 1 now- and that is a first for him.
PHIMan - PHILS NLCS! said 12/24, 09:27 AM
Did you forget about INT. Palmer has 23 TD to 18 INT. That is way too many TD for a QB. INT give the ball to the other team which gives them a good opportunity to score and you can easily lose the game with an INT, so 18 is way too many to throw.
Garrard rarely throws an INT, in fact Garrard did not thrown an INT until Week 13, that is a long time without an INT and that is a main reason why the Jaguars will be making the playoffs.
Garrard can run the ball okay, he has 185 rushing yards and a TD and Palmer has 22 rushing yards with 0 TD.
Garrard has only played 12 games, so that is 3 fewer than Palmer and Palmer has many more attempts, so that is why Garrard has way less yards than Palmer. Also Garrard only has 5 less TD than Palmer, so he could have more if he played those games and that is why he has way less 1st downs also.
Garrard has a QB rating of 102.2 and Palmer has a QB rating of 84.6. Garrard also averages 7.7 yards per pass and Palmer averages 7 yards per pass.
Palmer has way better receivers to throw to. Palmer has Chad Johnson and T.J Houshmanzadeh. Garrard has no one to throw to.
Palmer also has fumbled 5 times and Garrard has only fumbled 3x.

SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FREIND
the division key on your calculator
Lets shoot a hole in the whole DG played less games crud
DG has averaged 195 yards in his 12 games
CP has averaged 246 yards in his 15 games
so don;t think that the 3 games difference is why DG has SO MUCH fewer yards
9.75 1st down tosses per game
Palmer is at 13.6 per game
you think 18 ints is way too many
man you must think Tony Romo STINKS- he has 18 too.
Derek Anderson has 18 as well -counting this weekend
and Brett Farveis sitting at 15 this year even Peyton has 14 so far.
so I don;t think 18Ints make you stink by abny means-
ever think that the QB might have a little bit to do with how good a QB is? I mean Rice made Bono look like a star and Irvin made Steve Walsh look like an All-Pro
But look at the RBs
Jacksonville is stiing at #2 in the NFL with 2295 so far this year
Cincy is WAY down the list at 21 with 1479 so far.
Lets also look at Defense
Jacksonville is 6th in points given up
Cincinnati is 23rd in points given up
I would say Palmer has MUCH less support around him than DG does by a GREAT MARGIN
PHIMan - PHILS NLCS! said 12/25, 01:56 PM
Defense has nothing to with how good a QB plays, so I do not know why you brung it up to show he has less defensive support, but a QB plays on offense.
All of those Quarterbacks that you named have more touchdowns than Palmer, so there INT to TD ratio is better than what Palmers is.
You cannot compare T.J Housh and Chad Johnson to the Jaguars receivers which are Dennis Northcutt, Ernest Wilford, Reggie Williams, and Matt Jones. Both of the Bengals receivers are better than all of them and any other WR on the whole entire Jaguars team. David Garrard has much less to work with receiving wise than Carson Palmer does. So with the support Garrard has, I think he does a great job leading that team.
Palmer has more Yards per game and 1st down passes per game because he attempts a pass more than David Garrard does. Palmer averages 36.2 passes per game and Garrd averages 27.1 passes per game.
The bottom line is pretty much like this. Palmer turns the ball over way more than Garrard does and only has 5 more TD's than him. Garrard throws 6 TD's for every INT and Palmer throws 1.2 TD per INT which is not that good. Garrard has a much better ratio.
Jags=playoffs, CIN=no
A throwdowner named NCshvDavid said 12/25, 10:15 PM
Defense says a LOT on how good your TEAM is
Considering how you are also touting a playoff spot- apparently team results matter to you as well
and how HAS Chad played the last oh say MONTH or so?
So INts are the biggest thing to you ok.
Donovan F McNabb is better than Tom Brady then by that logic (6 to 8)
Chad Pennington is better than Big Ben (10 to 11)
Trent Dilfer, Damon Huard and Jason Campbell are all better than Payton Manning OR Brett Farve 8,9, and 12 vs 14 and 15
and they ALL are MONSTERS compared to Derek anderson and Tony Romo
who have 18 ints each.
Sorry I don;t follow THAT logic.
and Vince young may make the playoffs- as might Tavaris Jackson
So I guess Donovan, Kitna and Drew Brees are just chump change to you then since they are more than likely sitting home this year
Tell you what see it you can trade jackson for Drew Brees and see what you get.

Garrard leads a team going to the playoffs and a reason why the Bengals have been so bad this season is because Palmer turns the ball over way too much. Garrard doesn't so he always gives his team a chance to score and Palmer doesn't by giving the ball to the other team.
Garrad has 200 less attempts, so his yardage total, 1st down total and TD total is lower because of that.
Garrard has terrible receivers and Palmer has some of the best in the league to throw to, so it is tough for Garrard to find someone to throw to, but he finds a way to get it done and makes the smart moves by throwing the ball out of bounds and not giving the other team a chance to pick it out, thus for his low INT and lower completion percentage.
He still only has 5 less TD's despite way less attempts, 3 less games, and way worse receivers to throw to.
Garrard is the better and more consistent QB

Phillyman grow a pair, take off your skirt and put them in order. I understand you want to protect your spot on the monthly leaderboard with obvious TDs but damn.

I have never put anything in order, they will argue some as #3 over #4

I think too many people tie the Bengals general failure to Palmer, and that's just wrong. He's a monster talent.

Really? I did not know that. Thanks for explaining the common knowledge involving interceptions. Vote to David.

Those defensive stats also show how Palmer has to throw more often, coming from behind... so Palmer's stats can be bloated from that. Garrard is going to have lower numbers BECAUSE he has the running game, but he has managed games much better this season than has Palmer. I would still rank Palmer ahead based on career, but since Phillyman designated "this season only" (and NCshvDavid didn't challenge that presumption) I have to go with Garrard...
Stats notwithstanding Garrard has had the better season of the two... Palmer is putting up bigger numbers because he has to throw all the time...
