Shaun Rogers does NOT deserve to get into the Pro Bowl

Yes, Shaun Rogers has 6.5 sacks and an interception returned for an 80+ TD but he only has 24 tackles, unusual for a Pro Bowler. But more to the point, he can't last more than 5 plays without being winded.

Shaun Rogers will just come off the field during the game a lot. This is because he doesn't work out enough and he doesn't feel like playing either. As you all know, Rogers is a "I'll play when I feel like it" kind of guy. Terrell Owens and Randy Moss are going to the Pro Bowl but they have had bad reputations from the past. They are both reported happy at the time. Plus, I never saw them come of the fieldwithout warning during a game this year. And like I said earlier, who ever heard of a 24-tackle DT who went to the Pro Bowl?

OK first of all he has 35 total tackles.I dont know why no one gives players credit for half tackles. So he has 35 tackles,6.5 sacks which is good for a DT,a fumble recovery,an int for a td.Also has 3 tipped passes,oh and by the way it was 66 yards not 80 plus yards. He has been a bright spot on a bad defense and should def be in the pro bowl.Oh also Kevin Williams a probowl starter, his stats are very comparable, same thing with Haynesworth.

My main point was that Rogers can't last more than 4 straight snaps. What is he going to do durin the Pro bowl, come off the field because he is winded? If you get winded that quickly, you do not deserve to get in the Pro bZowl. Williams and Haynesworth did have comparable stats (slightly better) but at least they can last one game without going off the field.

You really think that?HAha every DT in the NFL gets alot of breaks throughtout a game, actually throughout a series. These arent 260 pound DE's.They are mamouth 300+ pound defensive linemen.Pat Williams,Kevin Williams, haynesworth, fred Robbins they all take multiple breaks like Rogers.First of all most DT's dont play in passing situations. Also if he takes so many breaks why does he have 6 1/2 sacks?Considering 3-4 sacks in a season is great for a DT then I think he has done pretty well for himself.

Forfeited Turn

Alright i guess ill finish this up.When it comes to a DT tackles dont really matter. They are there to pull olinemen away for the LBs to make plays.Which would be why as a MLB if you do not end up with atleast 100 tackles then you had an average year maybe worse.

I meant an 80+ yard TD interception, not 80+ TD.

Hes a defensive tackle so he is expected to stuff the run. Most teams wont run up the middle as often as they run outside so his chances for tackles are limited. His sack number is also high for a DT since most of the time he has the center and a guard blocking him.

He only had one int and it was a 66 yarder so there was no 80 anything for him.

DT's don't rack up tackles, they ,make room for the LB

great DTs aren't great bc of tackles, they are great when they command the middle of the line and force double teams all day in the run game. rogers does that, and so he is great.

Im happy to see that most people agree that a DT does not have 100 tackles or 12 sacks. They are on the field to stuff things up so a tackle is made.I am confused why this TD is even close.
