(both RB's must have at least 750 total yards for the season you choose)

1972 Dolphins - Csonka and Morris
Larry Csonka 1117 yds rushing (5.2 ypc), 6 TD's, 48 yds receiving
Maurice Morris 1000 yds rushing (5.3 ypc), 11 TD's, 168 yds receiving

They averaged 166 yards and over 1 TD per game between them and were the catalysts for the undefeated Dolphins. Consider, Bob Griese was hurt in 72 and only started in 5 games makes these numbers even more impressive.

Also, please do not argue Csonka was not a "Running back"...he had 213 rush attempts and started many games lined up alone in the backfield.

OJ Simpson & Jim Braxton for the Bills in '75.

OJ-1817 yards, 426 receiving yards and 23 TDs.
Braxton-823 rushing, 282 receiving, 13 TDs.

OJ and Braxton averaged around 2.5 TDs a game. Think of what OJ could have done that year if he wasn't splitting carries. 3000 yards in 14 games? It would have been possible. They combined for 3348 yards or an average of 239 a game. This is the greatest 2 back system in terms of yards per game. They also destroyed Csonka and Mercury in TDs. The Bills weren't great, but you can't blame that on the running game.

I would say that Griese being injured helped the numbers. The Dolphins had to rely on their backs more than usual with the abscense of Griese.

Other notables would have been last year's Falcons with Dunn and Vick, 76 Steelers with Harris and Bleier (Domer!), and 81 Cowboys with Dorsett and Springs.

Csonka is my favorite RB/FB ever, he bowled over people, Jim Brown style.

What about the Browns with Mack and Byner?

very nice Irish... I should have done some research before opening with my duo, huh? lol.... I am back to work tomorrow, so don't really have time to argue, not that it would have done any good. Well done
