Baseball, wow, hita ball... run in a circle... wow Football, tackleing, hitting, kicking, and the occasional fight now thats cool
Michael Gwizdala said 05/19, 10:17 AM
Hardest thing to do in sports, hit a baseball. Wow kicking in football, real manly! There's fights from time to time in baseball too, without the pads and helmets. They play a grueling 162 gm schedule. HR's are more exciting than TD's. If the Bengals were a baseball team you'd have to forefit because they have 9 felons. Football is too much stop and go, while baseball can go on forever. Football also has too many **** commercials. Football may be the passion, but baseball is the pastime!
broncos fan said 05/19, 10:24 AM
It takes a real man to go through the training and discipline that a football players have 2 go through. wow, baseball, ture it takes talent to hit a baseball, which gets more publicity? the world series? ... NO ... the super bowl?...YES... baseball has more incidents with steroids 2 , id rather see a touchdown that a homerun
Michael Gwizdala said 05/19, 10:46 AM
Takes concentration and discipline to hit a baseball. Baseball playoffs actually have series. Historically the WS is more watchable than the SB, i.e. less blowouts. Baseball doesn't wait 2 wks or have an 8 hr pre-game before the WS. Baseball has dynasties, football pairity. football has had more incidents with crimes, murders and steroids with a lax steroid policy to boot. O.J., PacMan, Carruth, Merriman, Alzedo, Ricky Williams, RayLew. Real bunch of class acts in that league. Take baseball.
broncos fan said 05/19, 04:17 PM
Football has more idols for kids, such as Peyton Manning, kids want to be just like him. Sure it take talent to hit a baseball going 90mph, but to throw a ball, say 30yds down the field to hit a moving target. Now thats cool. Who wants to watch 162 games split up between 30 teams? That would get boring after a while, thats why i say FOOTBALL IS THE BEST!!!
Michael Gwizdala said 05/19, 07:07 PM
Unless you're around the 50-yd line, baseball is a better live sport. Officiating in football is brutal. Baseball is cheaper and you don't freeze **** off. Find me a rivalry better than Yanks-Sox? Ballparks are more unique than generic football stadiums. Baseball has tradition and history. Baseball players don't play just once a week. Baseball playoffs are more grueling, no byes here. Again not only hitting a baseball but having .3 seconds to decide what pitch is coming and whether to swing or not.

neither of you get my vote. If you want to see a real fight, not a bunch of NFL thugs looking for publicity or MLB pansies trying to look cool, tune in to an NHL game. I laugh at the fights in the MLB and NFL. You're seriously using them as a reason to watch baseball or football? Come on now.

Bad argument Bronco's fan. While I too LOVE my football, baseball is america's past time and i gotta support Mike's arguments about the difficulties of hitting a baseball

Football.... Is the GREATEST American Sport. Although I agree that Bronco fan guy is a HORRIBLE argument maker... You can not sit there and tell me Baseball is better. It is slow, drawn out, full of **** and runs 162 games long. Football is more active. I believe Dollars speak for themselves. A Baseball team plays 9.5 Times more games than any football team. Why is there more revenue generated from a 16 Week season (it runs 21 games if they make playoffs & Super Bowl) than from a 162 game season? That to me is just astonishing. How is it possible that a 162 game (for 30 teams) season compared to a 16 Game (for 32 teams) does not produce more revenue?
I understand how hard it is to hit a 95 MPH fast ball but going off that premise than isnt it just as hard to throw an oblong ball 25-35 yards and hit your reciever (a moving target) while being blocked by some other guy? All the while trying to avoid being tackled by a 325 pound D-lineman? I believe that football appeals to so many because it can be brutal, it can be played in any weather. You guys walk off the field if it rains and snows. Play baseball in a foot of snow and then maybe we'll call it "HALF" as interesting as baseball.
As much as I would hate to say it, yes, all Major League sports are ruined by "Commercials". Pacino said it best in 'Any Given Sunday'; "It's TV, it changed everything, changed the way we think forever. I mean the first time they stopped the game to cut away to some **** commercial that was the end of it. Because it was our concentration that mattered, not theirs, not some **** selling cereal." That line makes everything that is wrong with Professional sports. All sports are better seen live. There is no stopping to hear about your ED Problem and what to look for incase you have genital herpies.
I got off track though; I love football because it moves. I love football because I can listen to Madden tell me all the **** I already know. I love football because you see anger and aggression bein fought out on the field. Baseball makes me think about how **** it must be to stand in a field and wait for a ball that "MIGHT EVENTUALLY" get hit. Playoff baseball is great. When guys play because they know tomorrow might not be there. That is great. You shorten the baseball season and maybe it will have that same effect football has. It is a fight because on any given sunday anything can happen. You might not be there next week. And guys play to win. Baseball is all about "tomorrow". There is no tomorrow. Win or go home. Football captures that very desire to WIN. That epic challenge to go out and defeat the other team because it is your last chance to hit the wild card slot and possibly breathe another week to play another game. And they do it week in and week out for glory (and money).
As for the guy who likes the NHL... Don't get me started. That is like calling "Soccer" a sport.
Football rules!!

Um... I meant to say "Football" in the part about playing baseball in the snow. But you're all smart. I'm sure you knew what I meant.
So "Play baseball in a foot of snow and then maybe we'll call it "HALF" as interesting as Football."
Thats it... :-)

baseball is much better. number one reason: the players care more in the mlb. also most people who don't like baseball don't like it because they don't understand all the intricate details that go into not just every at bat, but every single pitch. baseball is the number 1 sport. and for the guy who said the nhl is better, are you a freaking dumb a**? hockey is one of the worst sports. there's no talent involved. you just hit the puck down the ice, get nailed by some guy for absolutely no reason, hope one of your teammates gets the puck, and then restart the whole process again, sounds like loads of excitement. but back to the fighting, you don't see coaches in the nfl getting right up in the refs faces like they do in baseball
