I am going to pick my favorite of the sports and go with baseball. Selig has let this steroid thing become an utter circus full of lies and distrustful fans. It is going to take a long time before baseball recovers from this. Even if people still go the games and think they will sit seats with a sense of unease. It sucks the games best players and records are all tainted; I mean how do you fix that? I know the Bud "the worm" Selig did not accomplish the mess alone but he is the main guy. It is too bad he did some productive things like inter-league play, but laid a massive egg here.

Im going to go on a limb here and say basketball. While the steriod problem is a huge problem i believe Tim Donaghy's betting on games creates a bigger problem for the NBA because with the NBA being the least watched this just creates more doubt and problems for the league. The NBA is losing money and now with them switching to cable it will limit its audience and will make the NBA lose more popularity. With the referee scandals and the competition to keep up with baseball and football Stern has a lot to do.

I agree that the NBA might feel it for a short while; however "the League" says it was limited to one rogue official. IF you believe that you would have to assume that the damage was minimal. In baseball you had the BEST players of all time CHEATING. The owner, managers and SELIG knew about!!! That is catastrophic

While yes the MLB is having major problems with the steroids scandal it is still America's Pasttime and still popular. The NBA has problems with its players which all the sports do but mostly football and basketball but issues like Artest, the Kobe sex offenses, Carmelos fight, the brawl in Madison Square Garden. Also with the questioning of the refs bring question to the outcome of games and creates doubt that will lose a big fan base. And with the move to cable tv the fan base keeps getting smaller and they keep losing money and in order to keep the league in the top 3 major sports Stern has a lot of work to do.

That is all true, but for the most part what is seen on the court is REAL. You can't really say thay about MLB. Stern makes me puke, but I think he wants to try to turn things around. I don't get the feeling that Selig even cares and he would not be doing anything if they did not get caught. Baseball has made us the fans look like fools for a long time. I Love baseball, I will forgive them but Selig has alot of work to turn the avg fans view. God Luck

Report Offensive CommentI can't believe anyone went against baseball.
1or 2 decades from now nobody will remember these NBA problems - they'll be back to the garden variety assaults, etc.
Every time a baseball player approaches a record where an athlete accused of steroids is in the top 5 or 10, it will be commented on. This scar will literally be mentioned for decades in baseball until 5 to 10 players pass the records swet by the steroids users.
Baseball isn't going to erase the records. Shy of this, there is no way this will be forgotten.
Be honest - a decade or more from now, if a player on your team approaches the HR or other record and you see 1 of these guys on it, it will cross your mind "...and he didn't need steroids to do it."

Report Offensive Commentyou really left him no choice when you picked baseball, while i agree that baseball is totally corupt, he had to chose between bball or football which is a shity option. so i give my vote to basketball guy

Report Offensive CommentThe problem with the Baseball argument here is ticket sales are STILL at an all time high. Even now, season tix sales THIS YEAR are the highest they've ever been at this point, before. "Clean up" is a breeze when the fans are crossing the turnstiles at record clips...

Report Offensive Commentbasketball has the least class of all the sports. steroids and inequity may pollute baseball, but at least the players in baseball aren't ALL gangbanging thug criminals like the nba is.
