The best Big ten bowl game match up this year will go to Penn St Nittany Lions against Texas A&M Aggies
With an overall record of 8-4 and A&M having one of 7-5 both teams have a 4-1 home record...Both proving they can play well in there own house...Now for the road record Penn is 2-3 while the Aggies are 1-4
seeing this game is going to be played in Texas its a good bet to say that this is without a doubt a home game for A&M...
Now for a break down of teams, stats qbs running game defense and whatnot...
QB's
Morelli has a 59% completion rating with 18 tds and 9 INTS...and McGee has a 57% completion rating with 12 tds and 7 ints...both ratings being comparable with both td's/ints being just about 50%
Rushing...Kinlaw is averageing about 5.3 yds a carry leading Penn St to a 33rd in the country in rushing with 187 yds a game.. ..while McGee (A&M'S QB) is averaging 5.0. with 858 yds and the help of there running back Jorvorskie Lane who has 746 yds...the Aggies will be taking the rank of 14th in rushing with 215 yds a game
Penn St is averaging 222yds a game while the Aggies only 196
Total yds per game is Aggies 411 to Penn St 409...56th and 58th in the league
defense next...

I think the Big 10's best bowl match up is actually the Rose Bowl between USC and Illinois
Illinois out gains the the Trojans..also the Fighting Illini out rush the Trojans by 81 yards. Rashard Mendenhall is an absolute beast to have to try and stop..he's averaging about 6.2 yards per carry also Juice Williams is averaging 5.2 yards per carry for the Illini mean while the leading rusher for the Trojans averages 6.4 yards per carry in limited carries.
The passing game advantage goes to the Trojans, Juice Williams was inconsistent throughout the season, but when he's on, he's very good.

Wow good choice seeing its my team nemesis for the next game...i even wrote a blog on how much closer this game would be than everyone thinks...
But...
It's not going to be a closely MATCHED football game...Illinois probably will go down this year for being the most unqualified team to sneak into a Bowl game...#12 or less alone gets you considered and they were sitting just at 13...with Michigan's awful performance this season they could even give Michigan the nod over them for being the runner up in the big 10...and we all saw what happen last year in that game...ANYWAYS
This game is being seen as the most mis match game out there with USC winning with an average score of 33 to illinois 20...ESPN analysis has this game in favor of USC 80 - 20 %
USC has been playing the best football with wins over Cal and a huge win over Arizona St...With there defense full rested and healthy along with booty healthy there really shouldn't be a big reason why USC should dominate the game...USC Averages 375 points a game while only allowing 175....and im not seeing it pan out any different...

Illinois went into Columbus when the Buckeyes were playing good football and beat them. At that time the Buckeyes we're about as hot as anyone in the Nation, and the Illini really had nothing to lose, going into that game. A lot of people thought OSU would win game quite handely. I think this game falls into that same category, USC is playing about as good as anyone in the Nation right now, and Illinois has absolutely nothing to lose, they're going to go out and play incredibly loose. No one is expecting a thing from them.
Meanwhile people said Penn State was going to win. They had expectations going against A&M
Steveo16220 is a GGTK said 12/30, 02:57 PM
Yes illinois will goo ut and play like they have nothing to lose...because they don't...and your also correct no one is expecting them to win...and thats what this TD is about who is matched up evenly...and with you say that no one is even expecting them to play well against USC proves that in your mind as well as 80% of the people across America that Illinois / USCis an un evenly matched game...
Its not weather Penn St was going to win...there always has to be a prediction and odds on one team that is going to win...the margin of difference in the two games though (between Penn St / A&M and USC/Illinois) is what the arguments are about..dont forget the TD at hand...
Illinois did go into Ohio St and played a great team...and played them well..as most people would say the Big ten was watered down this season with OSU not playing big competition. Washington yeah ok...i guess but the reality of it is that OSU never played and beat a ranked team all season until they played illinois...and i dont even think illinois was ranked yet...not sure.but the fact that USC has played 3 ranked teams and beat 2 of them shows more diverse playing form them...oppose to OSU.

That's why in my opinion USC-lllinois is going to be the best game...Illinois is the closest the Big 10 has to an athletically even team with USC. Illinois is sort of like Oregon, the team that gave USC quite a bit of trouble, they've got a moble quarterback, and a very goo running back, just like Oregon. Yeah, USC was playing there back up quarterback, but there's a reason he's a scholarship player, he should have been able to play. John David Booty has played down to competition at times, look at the way he played against Stanford, I think it was something like 4 interceptions, they were expected to win it big. This football game has all the makings to be a great Rose Bowl

Report Offensive CommentI'm sure he did, but I would stongly disagree. I would say USC wins by at least double digits. I am not being biased because I am a Penn State fan, I could honestly care less about Illinois. USC is the best team in the nation besides Oklahoma in my opinion.
I would say Ohio State-LSU. Neither team is really that good.

Report Offensive Commentwell how close was that PSU game yesterday? it was the best matchup, and until i see a better game, i think it was the big ten's best matchup. so far of the bowl season of course. i mean purdue vs. cmu? mich st. vs. BC? even though both games were close they were supposed to be blowouts. but this was the most evenly matched best bowl pairup. vote to steveo.

Report Offensive CommentLMAO!
You know typing this is absolutely killing SteveO!
His gut has to be in knots, and he has to be shorting out his keyboard from the tears he is shedding with every keystroke.
Hmmm....
The sympathy vote to SteveO
The brilliantly devious treachery vote to Badger for inflicting such enormous amounts of pain an misery in a likely loss
But for a better though gutsy choice (picked before the game started),
and for caring enough about the battle to put the words down for posterity....
...vote to SteveO so far...

Report Offensive Comment...and the devious Badger not only going for the anti-USC vote, but somehow working in a plea for the anti-OSU vote, a populist move in a site with lots of southeastern members who are still sore about the war (Ohio - isn't that where Grant and Sherman came from?) (that's my theory, and I'm sticking with it)
Remind me never to play a board game with badger...
