Honarable mention: Jeff Fisher

1. Bill Billichick
2. Joe Gibbs (HOF coach)
3. Tony Dungy
4. Mike Shannahan
5. Mike Holmgren

So this is Joe Gibbs the HOF coach against Andy Reid.

Let me start off by saying, Reid doesn't even know how to controll his own players. He let the T.O. drama go WAY WAY too far. The next thing is that Andy Reid has never really realized you HAVE to run the ball. Westbrook gets underused as a RB each year and Reid is usually a heavy passer among the top 3 in the league.

Gibbs has been with the Skins for 16 seasons and has been to the superbowl 4 times and won it 3 times. He is 152-93 in the regular season with a 62 winning percentage and 17-6 in the postseason with a .739 winning percentage.

Reid is 80-48 in the regular season and 8-6 in the postseason and has been to one superbowl that the Eagles lost. A lot of people could blame the lose on McNabb, but I think it is more of the coach's fault for not making it clear as what to call on the hurry-ups. Joe Gibbs has been to the superbowl once every four years which is increibly impressive. The main kicker in this one is the fact that Reid has won NO superbowls compared to Gibbs' four. In the end, its all about the superbowl.

Yep, I said down low that you would say Gibbs. I have to come with something.Hold on hummmmmm..........

Andy Reid He led the Eagles to four NFC championship game appearances, from 2001-2004 and to Super Bowl XXXIX in 2004. Same amount of NFC Championship games but not the same effect. Andy Reid is 18 years younger and who knows what else he can do with the Eagles. Reid has only coached 8 years and i'm sitting here trying to argue with joe gibbs so that should count for something. Even you said "The main kicker in this one is the fact that Reid has won NO superbowls compared to Gibbs' four". Reid, 49, has earned NFL coach of the year honors twice, compiled the best win total 88, winning percentage .620 and playoff victory total 8 in team history.Among coaches with 100 games under their belt, Reid???s .620 winning percentage is 11th in NFL history and third among active coaches behind Indianapolis??? Tony Dungy .637and Washington???s Joe Gibbs 635.

* MY ONLY ARGUMENT IS GIBBS HAS COACHED DOUBLE THE YEARS Reid has*

To the voters- this throwdown is not based on this season's coaching. Peachtree and I setteled below that it is based on the coach overall and career. If we thought it was this season Wade Phillips and Mike Mcarthy would have been on the lists.

Reid has only been to one superbowl and lost. All the great coaches have won a superbowl! Like I said, Gibbs is a more respected coach by his players. T.O. took Reid like a chump and ran all over him. Reid had no controll over T.O. and that is the sign of a bad coach. Plus, Reid has a QB controversy every year. Something that should be avoided. Gibbs did one great job this season for coaching the players throgh the trajic lose of Sean Taylor. It takes a great coach to help his team overcome that and he used it as momentum to take his team into the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the NFL. Gibbs does make his fair share of poor decisions, but come on! The man has 3 superbowl wins in 16 years so he must be doing something right. Gibbs is a HOF coach right now, Reid will never even come close.

Reid has a terrible philosophy too. Almost every year he has the highest percentage of passing and he does not run the ball very often.

Here we go!......

All the coaches I stated ARE NOT IN THE HOF for goodness sakes. The Packers thought so highly of Reid that they named him quarterback coach the season after Bret Favre led the Packers to the SuperBowl Victory! Reid is one of only TWO coaches to have power as GENERAL MANAGER, as well as Head coach of the Patriots, Bill Bilichick. The KEYWORD is "RIGHT NOW". I will give Gibbs his due for keeping the team on the positive after the death of pro-bowler Sean Taylor. RIP! What more recognition can Gibbs get? He is already in the HOF. I truthfully don't think they can win the Superbowl this no matter how hot they're playing.

*Gibb's record since he's been back ('04) is 30 wins and 34 losses to Reid's record since '04 of 37 wins and 27 losses!*

Give the underdog a chance on this one!

Joe Gibbs singlehandedly cost his team two wins this season by bungling playcalls and clock management stupidity. For this you have him 2nd overall??? Hint - he didn't earn his his HoF stripes for the job he's done in his second stint with the Skins.

No McCarthy?

January 1, 2008  12:46 AM ET

lol thanks for the encouragement Lynch. I was gone for about a week, but I should be more active now.

T-fo, Gibbs screwed up... big. At least he can coach a group and not have the SAME QB CONTROVERSY over and over every season (McNabb). Plus he doesn't have players who think they are bigger than the team.

Double the years as head coach. Sorry again. I wasn't very direct with that comment.

January 1, 2008  01:14 AM ET

5 NFC EAST titles in 9 years! ?

January 1, 2008  01:16 AM ET

NOT double my bad but close. I mean come on Gibbs is ALREADY IN THE HOF!

January 1, 2008  01:56 AM ET

Gibbs? It says greatest right now, and Gibbs seems to be losing his touch a bit...

...still good, but not top 5

January 1, 2008  01:57 AM ET

thanks. give me a vote PLEASE

January 1, 2008  02:02 AM ET

"It says greatest right now"

Wallace, do you have some sort of X-ray goggles because no where does it say greatest right now. It says IN THE NFL RIGHT NOW. That means it limits the choices to active coaches, but based off of career achievments. Someone can use some reading comprehension skills.

WHO WANTS THIS DOG?

Gibbs has done an AWESOME job this year with a losing streak of four games and then the horrible tragedy with Sean Taylor. To get a team to the playoffs after that, amazing. This year alone gets him into the top 5. With that said GO SEAHAWKS!! My thoughts and prayers do go out the entire Redskins family.

January 1, 2008  02:06 AM ET

Reid has a hard season and only finished one 1 under Gibbs. I know Gibbs had a hard season emotionally for the team.

January 1, 2008  02:08 AM ET
