of course brady will win. of course moss will come second. this all comes with the undefeated season. but who actually was the most valuable to their team? im going to do the unthinkable and say neither brady or moss deserves to win the mvp. the mvp should go to brett favre and here is why

the patriots do NOT need tom brady at qb to make the playoffs. they would still have a guy throwing to stallworth, welker, and moss. this recving corps would make my grandmother look like dan marino. if they got rid of brady, they could still win the east and go to the playoffs

they dont need moss to make the playoffs either. they would have brady throwing to stallworth, welker, and maroney running. they did it without moss before, and could do it again

now take favre away from the pack. they have good but not great recievers, same in the run game. the d is good, but not enough to win like they did with favre. without favre green bay would be awful. without brady or moss, the pats would still contend. this is why i say favre is most deserving of the mvp award

Are you kidding? Brady should win it. Matt Cassell sucks. Without Brady the patriots offense wouldnt have the same explosiveness and swagger that it currently has. Brady has such charisma and poise when he steps out on the field, that opposing defenses have to respect him. There is no way Matt Cassell could have led them to all those 4th quarter combacks like Brady did. By no means am i saying he is better than favre, but he does mean more to his team and therefore deserves this years MVP award.

the patriots are good enough to win without brady or moss. the packers are not good enough to win without favre. that makes him more valuable

ok well lets look at the stats when the two qbs were replaced this year.

Matt Cassel
4/7, 38 yds, 57.1%, 0 TD, 1 INT, 32.7 Rating

Aaron Rodgers
20/28, 218 yds, 71.4 %, 1 TD, 0 INT, 106 Rating

Matt Cassel got benched because he single handedly let the dolphins back in the game. He has not started a game at qb since high school! He was Leinarts backup at USC. And as you can see you can have one of the best receiving corps in the NFL and have no production. So they are not good enough to win without brady but the pack are good enough to win without favre because they did this year.

matt cassel doesnt need to be brady. he needs to throw the ball up in the air to moss and hand it off to maroney. aaron rodgers needs to be favre

Usually when a guy breaks a big record, they win MVP

Keep spreading your hate, sucks to be a NY fan right now huh?

I think Farve at his age and with his lack of weapons is and will be the NFL MVP when he beats whoever Green Bay faces in the SB,That's my story and i'm stickin to it.He was my fantasy QB pretty much all year and went against a guy who had Brady11-2 (Farve did do terrible in week 16,but i still won).Farve is not done yet and he is someone you can't count out yet.

"the patriots do NOT need tom brady at qb to make the playoffs. they would still have a guy throwing to stallworth, welker, and moss"

Really? Cause last I checked Randy Moss quit if his QB wasn't great, Wes Welker got dumped from Miami, and Stallworth was a cast-off from Philadelphia and New Orleans, two of the most receiver- strapped teams in the NFL.

Rada, the NFL MVP award comes out BEFORE the Super Bowl...

And keep dreamin', homer.

January 1, 2008  01:29 PM ET

yankeefan21142 r u joking Brady's the Pats hallof famer

January 1, 2008  01:45 PM ET

This is homerism at its worst.

January 1, 2008  01:53 PM ET

Patrick Kerney should win the MVP.

January 1, 2008  02:16 PM ET

moss wont get it. but if not brady then i think romo will

January 1, 2008  02:22 PM ET

yeah, yankees fan also thinks the pats should have forfeited the first game even though the recording had no bearing on the game and almost all the teams steal signals... just not so blatantly, but they all do it. yankees fan is just biased againsted the pats.

"Usually when a guy breaks a big record, they win MVP"

Tell that to David Carr, when he set the record for most times sacked in a season (70, in 2002).

"Usually when a guy breaks a big record, they win MVP"

Well Favre did break the record for TD's, Yards, Completions and Wins this year...that's a lot of ALL-TIME records!!!

January 1, 2008  03:21 PM ET

but Brady will still win

January 1, 2008  03:42 PM ET

Mmm... the only thing I hate about Brady is the fact that HE thinks HE'S so sexy, but he ain't...

January 1, 2008  03:43 PM ET

But he should win the MVP, I guess.

January 1, 2008  04:19 PM ET

Brady will win..

January 1, 2008  04:20 PM ET

if brady plays like he played this year or somewhat like he played.. he could eventually be the best ever if he plays his cards right he has another 10 years in the pros

January 1, 2008  04:34 PM ET

i think favre should win, because of wat hes done with the packers this year.but tom brady more than likely will win it,for the simple fact that hes a record breaker.

Brady is by far the best player in the league this year, but he is not the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER to his team. I agree that Favre is much more important to the Packers than Brady to Pats.
