'55 Browns
'74 Steelers
'73 Dolphins

i think the 72 dolphins are number 2 they are the only team in NFL history too go 17 and 0 and larry csonka and mercury morris became the first teamates to both rush for atleast 1,000 yards in the same season the offense led the NFL in points scored (385) and set the league record for total rushing yards in a season 2,960 the no-name defense had few stars but allowed the fewest points (171 ) in the NFL. six players from the 72 dolphins reached the pro foot ball hall of fame.

While the '72 Dolphins did go undefeated I still believe they benefited from a weak schedule. The teams they played had a combined .400 winning percentage. They also barely made it out of the playoffs winning against the Steelers by four and the Redskins by 7. Also going into the Super Bowl they were the underdogs. That shows they were not that dominant of a team. Now the '62 Packers won their first 4 games by a combined total of 119-14. They racked up 628 yards against Philly while holding them to 54 yards. With this Packer team led by Vince Lombardi, Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Jim Taylor, Max McGee and Boyd Dowler. They had a great offensive line and defense holding opponents to 11 points per game.

they may have played a little bit eisier schedule then other teams but if they played a eisier schedule then how come no teams have matched that yet? the packers didint match it and the packers didint have to people that both ran for atleast 1,000 yards 2,960 combined thats almost 2,960 between the booth of them.

January 2, 2008  11:16 PM ET

Both lists suck.

January 2, 2008  11:18 PM ET

These are the kind of throwdowns that everyone disagrees on.Thats why I didn't take it.

January 2, 2008  11:19 PM ET

1999 Rams? Are you kidding me. All four SB winning Steelers teams of the 70s would have killed the 99 Rams.

January 2, 2008  11:33 PM ET

I tried to pick different teams from different franchises

January 2, 2008  11:41 PM ET

07 patriots are no where to be seen

January 2, 2008  11:41 PM ET

kurt warner throwing for 5,000 yards isnt enough for you rock?

January 2, 2008  11:45 PM ET

most of that list sucks. 07 patriots need the postseason to prove something. the cowboys from the 90's should be there. the steelers of the 70's and the montana 49ers

January 2, 2008  11:47 PM ET

kurt was in beast mode that year....more importantly a couple of years before that he did an excellent job of bagging my groceries

January 3, 2008  12:32 AM ET

The Patriots should be at least an honorable mention.

January 3, 2008  12:32 AM ET

The 07 Patriots, I mean.

January 3, 2008  02:22 AM ET

Where are the 07 Dolphins. Its ridiculous that neither of you had them in at least your honorable mention lists.

January 3, 2008  07:33 AM ET

07 Patiots season is not even over. Can not list them until after the season.

January 3, 2008  09:08 AM ET

These are horrible...no vote.

Wow both list suck! How can you not have at least one of the 90???s Cowboys team? And no this is not a homer pick just reality. One of the greatest TEAMs ever. Troy Aikman, Irvin, Harper, Smith, D. Johnston, Novecek, Stepnoski, Maryland, E. Williams, D. Woodson, Sanders, N. Newton, Ken Norton Jr., Mark Tuinei, and Haily. The list goes on and on but I would have to say the 92 Cowboys 13-3 and went on to the second largest defeat in SB history 52-17 and forced 9 turnovers. Defense and a killer offense have to be in the top five much less the top 10.

Don't forget that in 1999 Marshall Faulk set the record for most yards from scrimmage in a single season.
