Da Masta: retired said 01/03, 07:00 PM
I say.... yes, they will be a great team and have 100+ wins probably. They have great pitching in Verlander, Bonderman, and the newly aquired Willis. They have the MLB's best lineup and good fielding also.

The tigers will be one of the best team, but however they do not have the best lineup. The top three lineups in baseball are Yankess, Redsox, than Tigers. I also belive that Wills is overrated because he wasn't pitching great for the marlins. Plus the season hasn't started yet. The players might get hurt. Injuries are part of the game. Let wait till the season begins. I will explain more in the next argument.

A-Rod won the MVP last year. Derek Jeter won 4 gold gloves. The Tigers does have a good pitching rotation but I believe that tigers need a new closer. The Yankees had the best offense last year. Plus don't forget that Gary Shefield was hurt last and that hurt their playoff race. Remember the last time that Edgar Renteria was playing in the American League, He wasn't at the top of his game. I believe that the tigers won't win 100 games because they need bullpen pitchers. They need a new setup man or a closer. The reason that the redsox won the World Series because they had the best bullpen in the league. I explain more in the next argument.

The Tigers have great pitching great batting and good fielding. Their batting will close out games for them so they dont need a closer. Sorry I cant make a better arguement but I only have 5 min. before it forfeits my turn.

Maybe you should have argue yesterday. You had all day yesterday. What happens if their batting doesn't close games for the tigers? What's their backup plan? No closer, that won't help the tigers to win. I am done here.

Why is everyone so high on Willis? He hasn't done that well in a long time...

I agree Wallace... Willis and his funky mechanics are quickly eroding any potential he may have... plus it won't necessarily be a breeze for him to switch from NL to AL batting...

Willis will most certainly not be good. He struggled in the NATIONAL LEAGUE. The NL has far worse lineups. In the AL there are very few easy outs, but there are a couple in most lineups in the NL.

Detroit's lineup is better top to bottom than Boston's. That is what having JD Drew and Julio Lugo in a lineup will do.

the tigers pitching is gonna hurt them everyone is annoiting bonderman as an ace he is at best a #3, Rogers needs to stay healthy and is getting up their, what do they have for pitching if you go into a playoff series only i stopper and then avg. they have no closer, and Zumiya is injured again.
