Julius Jones spent much of his rookie season injured until the second half in which he exploded for 819 yards and seven td's.He was suposed to be the franchise rb and now in my opinion has kind of turned into a bust.Huge things were expected but since his production outburst he has failed to meet his rushing marks and hasnt really been the receiving threat they expected.ill finish explaining in my next to arguments!

Semi-bust???

How about a WHOLE bust?

They drafted him in the second round expecting him to come in and be the next Emmitt Smith. Talk about wishful thinking... He did well in his first two years, however, neither time was his production worth anything (no playoffs), and he was frequently injured.

Now that he IS healthy, he has basically sucked. He'll start a game strong and finish weak, or do nothing really at all except lose yards and contribute to the running game getting stuffed,

I say there is no "semi" tag in his bust label. He was a high pick, whose occasional accomplishments never counted, and when he finally managed to start playing instead of sitting out with injuries, he has basically been one of the weak spots on a Super Bowl contending team. No semi. He is an all-out bust.

You cant call him a complete bust right now. While he hasnt lit anything up this year he still has made some big plays just not consistantly. The thing with him is they expected him to be able to take the whole load and carry the running game and he hasnt. But he is capable and has changed games with some big runs.Barber is much better and Jones probably wont be there next year but a complete bust would be a guy like Ron Dayne was or cedric Benson.

He's made big plays? He has 6 combined touchdowns in his last two seasons, he averaged 4.1 yards per carry last year and a HORRENDOUS 3.6 this year.

Over the last two seasons he has only 8 runs over 20 yards (an average of .25 per game.)

By comparison, rookie Adrian Peterson has a 5.6 yards per carry average, 12 touchdowns (double JJ's total) and 11 runs over 20 yards (3 more than JJ's) in 18 fewer games.

So... he hasn't made a lot of plays. He has struggled mightily. He has lost everything but his job title of starter to Marion Barber. He is a former second round pick.

Bust? Yup.

Forfeited Turn

... and that's the end of that chapter.

Yes. Julius Jones is horrible now, he falls down almost each first contact he has, he doesnt explode much, andwhen he does explode he just carries a pile no wheres.

what the hell is a semi-bust? Is that like kind of pregnant?

^ LMAO

He is who we thought he was! :-)

There is no "semi" too it. He is a complete bust. And to think we passed up on Stephen Jackson and Kevin Jones

Funny. It wasn't too long ago I saw a TD about Marion Barber sucking and Julius Jones should be the main RB. If there is a thing called "semi-bust" then is there a "semi-stud"?

January 4, 2008  08:56 PM ET

Hawkeye... whoever made that TD is a huge idiot (and a chode)

January 4, 2008  09:50 PM ET

They need either Darren, Kevin Smith, or that dude from illionis Menndenhall. Marion Barber is decent

January 4, 2008  10:11 PM ET

What's a chode?

'Thanks for the laugh, Jim L.'

Sometimes, it's just that easy :-)

He is a contributing player at the 43rd pick of the draft. He never was suppose to be a star.

January 5, 2008  10:20 PM ET

how do you argue this, how am i supposed to define semi-bust????

January 5, 2008  10:21 PM ET

nice one jim that made me laugh

You kidding me? You pick a guy with a top 10 pick of the second round with the intention of not having him be a star? He was drafted as the replacement for Emmitt Smith! Obviously, they didn't expect him to necessarily BE Smith, but he was supposed to replace him.

First 43 isn't top ten of the 2nd round and at that point you are looking for starters not stars. No one calls second rounders busts.
