BASED ON THIS SEASON.

Drew Brees. The Saints were carried by Drew Brees. The only problem is, he couldn't carry them far. Despite his 4,423 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 67.5% completion rating, the Saints ended the season 7-9.

Brees is the most valuable player of the Saints and since Deuce was injured and Reggie Bush never amounted to much, Brees had to carry the load himself. Brees' two main targets this season were Colston and Patten. No one else had over 500 receiving yards.

Drew Brees did everything he could for this team, but their poor running game (28th in the league) and weak defense (25th in points allowed per game) let him down. Brees made this team the third best passing team in the league. He even caught two passes this season and he ran for a touchdown! If not for Brees this team could be 5-11 or worse!

Brees
4,432 passing yards
67.5 completion percentage
28 touchdowns
18 interceptions

Palmer
4,131 passing yards
64.9 completion percentage
26 touchdowns
20 interceptions

Bree has more yards, he has a higher completion percentage, more touchdowns, and less interceptions. As I said in my first argument, this is based on this year. Brees has clearly had a better season than Palmer.

You may bring up that Brees had more attempts, but then that shows that Brees is mroe accurate than Palmer, completing a higher percentage of passes. Another thing is that Brees threw two less interceptions on more attempts.

Also, you have to take into account the weapons they have on offense. Brees' top two receivers are Colston and Patten. Palmer has TJ Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson. Yes, Colston and Patten are good, but they can't be compared to TJ and Johnson.

Well, now I don't have much to say because I have nothing to argue against. Basically all I can do is reiterate what I said earlier.

Brees has had a better season than Palmer this year. He has 301 more yards, higher completion percentage, 2 more touchdowns, and 2 less interceptions. It's close, but Brees has the edge.

Once again, the Bengals have better receivers than the Saints do. Chad is a huge big play threat and TJ is possibly the best possesion receiver in the game today. Colston and Patten are good, but not on the same level as TJ and Chad Johnson.

Also, Brees is the clear cut MVP for the Saints this year while some could argue for TJ Houshmandzadeh. It would be a tough argument, but possible.
