East:
1. Boston - obviously
2. Detroit - 11 game win streak
3. Orlando - Dwight Howard is the difference
4. Hawks - good young team in weak conference
5. Nets - Finally heating up
6. Toronto - Bosh will lead them to a 6 seed
7. Wizards - Once Arenas gets back they will do great
8. Cavs- Lebron will sneak them in

1. Boston: duh
2. Detroit: There's really no one else in that division to challenge them...
3. Orlando: With Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu, they should run away with the Southeast.
4. Cleveland: They are the best team out of all of the average teams, and LBJ should lead them to the 4 seed.
5. Toronto: Bosh and Ford are playing well, and will lead these guys to the 5 seed.
6. Nets: Kidd, Carter, and Jefferson are too good to let their team down.
7. Hawks: Solid young core, and Joe Johnson provides the leadership, much like a poor-man's 2006-07 Bulls.
8. Pacers: Very solid team, Jermaine O'Neal playing good ball, along with Mike Dunleavy, this team should get the 8.

Nice you have a lot of differences....
Lets start with 4 seeds...
Hawks vs Cavs
points per game- Cavs 95.6 Hawks 94.4 (Cavs win)
points per game against- Cavs 98.9 Hawks 95.7 (Hawks win)
difference- Cavs -3.3 Hawks -1.1 (Hawks win)
Good players on team- Cavs 1 Hawks 2 (Hawks win)
The Cavs play in a much tougher division which will give them a harder schedule which will give them less wins. The Hawks are also much more balanced than the Cavs with Johnson, Smith, Horford, and Williams while the Cavs have only LBJ.
Raptors vs. Nets
You talk about Ford playing well? He is injured for who knows how long (at least a few months). Bargnani is playing badly so they only have Bosh. The Nets are finally heating up with the big 3 playing well. Also Sean Williams the Nets rookie is playing very well.
6 seed-
Like I just said Nets are better than Raptors

ill prove the 7 and 8 seeds in my next arguement

OK, you're saying that the Raptors will be worse without Ford, but since his last game, they have played at the same .500 rate, which in the Eastern Conference, basically guarantees you the 5 slot. They also have Jose Calderon, who has stepped up well, and Anthony Parker to complement Bosh.

Well if the Hawks have Johnson, Smith, Horford, and Williams, then the Cavs have LeBron, who trumps Smith, Ilgauskas, Gooden, and Gibson, all of whom average 12+ points per game, with Ilgauskas also averaging 10 rebounds.

Yes, the Hawks have talent, but even if they are in a weaker division, they don't have one guy who can take over the game, and those role players around him.

The Wizards will not make the playoffs because even if/when Arenas comes back, he will not have played for 3 months, and knee injuries are touchy after you return from them.

I am not saying the Raptors will not be in the playoffs just that the Nets will be ahead of them. The Nets have won 5 straight, 3 on the road including a win in Orlando. The Nets will have a better record then the Raptors at the end of the season.

Like I said the Cavs play a much tougher schedule than Atlanta. Also all your guys that get 12+ points per game don't get 12+, they get 12. In Atlanta, Johnson, Smith, and Williams all get 15+ pts. per game. Horford gets 8 points and 9 rebounds. They do have one guy who takes over games, when the Hawks played NJ yesterday Smith scored like 35 points!

The Wizards will also get in because-
1. They are playing well without Arenas
2. They have 2 other stars
3. Haywood is playing well this season
4. They play in the East
5. Once Arenas gets back in March the season still has another month and a half for them to get dominant again.

1. 13-10 is okay...They are streaky though...
2. And that's it.
3. 10 points, 8 rebounds is not very impressive to me...
4. So do all the other teams we're talking about..., if you mean the Southeast, there are still three good teams in that division, Magic, Hawks, Wiz. Same in the Central, Pistons, Pacers, Cavs. The Bulls and Bucks are not good teams.
5. That is a big "if." Yes, that could happen, but it could also happen that Arenas comes back, not having played for three months, and stinks up the joint, making the rest of his team worse.

LBJ-28.9
Ilgauskas-13.7
Gooden-12.6
Gibson-12.5

I consider all of those to be 12+

Horford gets 8 and 9, Ilgauskas gets 13.7 and 10. Smith is not the same caliber as LBJ when it comes to taking a game over.

Cavs will finish much better than an eight seed.
