06:20 PM ET 04.24 | NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kurt Busch climbed into a ride of a different kind on Tuesday as part of a media event to promote the V8 Supercars Series race May 17-19 at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. As part of the promotion, Busch made a 20-minute run around the road course in a V8 Supercar, while Supercar driver James Courtney took Busch's No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Chevrolet NASCAR Sprint Cup car for a spin. "It was sure a thrill to get into a car that I have watched and admired for many years during all those Supercar road races," Busch said. "It was also a little weird driving the Supercar and watching my car stretch its legs down the straightaway." Before getting into the Supercar, though, Busch acclimated himself with the track by driving his familiar ride, his Sprint Cup car. "I had a blast driving my car on the road course and even more of a blast in the V8 Supercar," Busch said. "The Circuit of The Americas is an awesome track with a lot of interesting and fun turns." When it came time to climb into the V8 Supercar, Busch had a few things to get used to. Opening a door to get into the car, as opposed to climbing in the window, was the easy part. Busch had to get used to a car with the steering wheel on the right side and the shifter to his left.

10:18 AM ET 04.20 | Brad Keselowski's take on the penalties NASCAR slammed his Penske Racing team with earlier this week? "We're in an 'agree to disagree' stage," he said Friday after he finished qualifying for Sunday's STP 400 at Kansas Speedway. "There's, thankfully, a third panel to settle those disagreements." Keselowski was referring to the appeal process that will settle the issue that cropped up before last Saturday's race at Texas, when he and teammate Joey Logano's cars were found to have illegal rear-end parts. Keselowski and Logano were both docked 25 championship points for the infractions, while their respective crew chiefs -- Paul Wolfe and Todd Gordon -- were fined $100,000, suspended for six races and put on probation until Dec. 31. Friday was the first time Keselowski spoke extensively about the penalties. He was in a much calmer mood than he was after the Texas race, when he said the way NASCAR was treating his team was "absolutely shameful."

05:59 PM ET 04.17 | NASCAR cracked the whip on Penske Racing Wednesday by suspending seven crew members of Brad Keselowski and teammate Joey Logano because of developments at the NRA 500. NASCAR also dished out $200,000 in fines for the two crews for bringing unapproved parts to the Texas Motor Speedway for last weekend's race. The two drivers and their car owners were each deducted 25 championship points as part of the punishment. With the point deductions, Keselowski has dropped to fourth in the Cup standings and Logano to 14th. Keselowski crew chief Paul Wolfe and Logano crew chief Todd Gordon were each fined $100,000 and placed on probation for the rest of the year. Travis Geisler, who is the team manager for both cars, is suspended for the next six races.

03:52 PM ET 04.16 | Consistency or lack thereof in NASCAR is always debated among the media and race fans alike in what seems to be a never ending issue. Yesterday, NASCAR made a controversial decision to leave Brad Keselowski alone and not fine him for his incensed remarks following the NRA 500. The next decision NASCAR makes could also cause many fans and members of the media to criticize them and that is what to do with Ron Hornaday. At Rockingham, the four-time champion turned rookie Darrell Wallace Jr. into the wall under caution. He was forced to go to the end of the longest line for the restart and was called to the hauler following the event. Now Ron vehemently denied that he intentionally wrecked Wallace but the video shows exactly what his intent was.

06:36 PM ET 04.15 | There is some unfortunate news in NASCAR today after reports surfaced that a man shot himself in the head during the NRA 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday. The Associated Press reported the tragedy that happened late in yesterday's race. This probably isn't what the NRA had in mind when they agreed to sponsor a NASCAR race. The NRA has not commented on the situation yet, but it probably wasn't a good idea to have Kyle Busch shooting guns in to the air shortly after a man committed suicide in the infield. Then again, sensitivity has never been the NRA's forte.
