07:00 AM ET 05.17 | Now, let's hope the San Antonio Spurs choose Deshaun Thomas. That's because when the Spurs asked the former Ohio State star for his phone number Wednesday night, he refused to give it to them. Thomas said teams asked him plenty of difficult and interesting questions during his interview process at the combine. But the most interesting, he said, was the fact the Spurs' first question was for his cell phone number and his e-mail address. He gave them the e-mail, but not the phone number. "I can't go around giving it out to everyone," Thomas said Thursday with a laugh. "Now if they want to draft me, I'd be happy to give it to them." Thomas is projected as a second-round pick.

Lawsuit exposes Fisher

06:59 AM ET 05.17 | In the eyes of many, Billy Hunter was no great leader for the players, which has resulted in investigations and, eventually, his ouster. Hunter ran the union like a mom-and-pop store, hired relatives and funneled business to companies that employed his relatives. ... Hunter's wrongs do not make [Derek Fisher] right. Hunter and Fisher can both be wrong. That has been my position from the outset. Derek Fisher is conniving. Don't take my word for it. Ask a Utah Jazz fan. Years ago, he used his daughter's health as an excuse to get out of Utah. Just this past season, Fisher hid behind his alleged desire to spend time with his family to get out of playing for the Dallas Mavericks. Thinking he could steal another title, he later signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

06:58 AM ET 05.17 | As some had feared, Nerlens Noel will not be ready to start his first NBA season on time season. [Noel] is targeting a debut around Christmas, he said Thursday during the NBA combine. Noel said he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and is expected to go No. 1 in the draft despite missing the first two months of the season. "Ever since the surgery, everything is going great," Noel said. "I'm 100 percent confident, not just getting back to what I was, but stronger. Going through this time not playing basketball, I'll just be working on things I need to polish. It will improve me in the long run." Noel injured his knee in February.

10:15 AM ET 05.16 | Steve Nash is finding other ways than basketball to fill up his schedule now that the Los Angeles Lakers are out of the NBA Playoffs. The 39-year-old isn't getting any younger and recently said he'll probably retire when his contract expires. The first season with the Lakers has not been kind to Nash. In only his second game, the point guard broke a bone in his leg, which sidelined him for 24 games. While he was relatively healthy after that, his body once again fell apart toward the final stretch of the season and he could only play through injections for pain relief.

Sonics fans should be happy for, not angry at Kings fans

03:47 AM ET 05.16 | With news that the Seattle Supersonics won't be coming back, as the NBA has voted to keep the Kings in Sacramento, the city of Seattle has yet again been scorned by the NBA. But while there may be sufficient motivation to lash out at the city of Sacramento, Seattle fans need to pause for a moment and cheer for Kings fans, because somehow they evaded the fate Sonics fans were tortured with back in 2008. The saddest part of the heist of the Sonics was that fathers and sons, and mothers and daughters across the Seattle area were hoping the team would stay so that new memories could be made with the team they loved. Those memories will never happen and it's a tragedy. But down in Sacramento, some father will take his son to his first Kings game and the two of them will fall in love with the team and the sport together and cherish that memory forever. Hate the NBA all you want, Seattle, but think about your loss and feel thankful that another dedicated fanbase doesn't have to experience what you did.
