10:13 AM ET 05.18 | Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has scheduled to meet with head coach Vinny Del Negro over the weekend to discuss Del Negro's fate with the organization, a league source informed CSNNW.com. According to the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation, says the two will meet in Los Angeles and a decision is anticipated shortly after. The uncertainty of Del Negro's job status has been lingering over his head and coaching staff ever since the Clippers were bounced out of the playoffs in the first round by the Memphis Grizzlies, a team they took care of a year ago in the first round.

07:33 AM ET 05.18 | A high school senior got the surprise of a lifetime when Dwyane Wade arrived at her prom. Nicole Muxo, a senior at Archbishop Coleman Carroll, posted a video she on YouTube asking Wade to be her date, but she says she never expected him to actually show up. Just before 9:30 p.m., the Heat star arrived. He said it wasn't the first time she'd asked him to a dance, but this time her persistence paid off. "She continued to go for it no matter how many times I told her I'm going to be busy she continued asking if I'm going to come," he said. The entire crowd cheered as Wade arrived on the dance floor. "I was so surprised. I didn't expect it at all," said Nicole. They took pictures together and danced. Her date Laurent Chaumin was a good sport about the whole thing and joked with Wade. "At least we both know how to dress," he said. Nicole says the night was unforgettable. "I'm going to remember it forever. This was definitely the highlight of my senior year."

10:30 AM ET 05.18 | It appears Bryan Colangelo's time in Toronto is running out. Sources confirmed a deadline has been set for Monday for Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment to determine whether Colangelo will get his third-year option picked up. That seems a highly unlikely outcome. It???s difficult to imagine Colangelo, a two-time executive of the year closing in on 20 years of experience, will stick around even if given the choice by Monday. New MLSE president/chief executive officer Tim Leiweke has said since taking over three weeks ago that fixing what ails the Raptors would be a priority of his. He has not yet given Colangelo a vote of confidence and a long-term extension certainly isn't coming with Leiweke giving off the perception that Colangelo -- even for just one more year -- is a fallback option if he cannot hire his preferred choice.

LeBron James seeks free-throw tips from Ray Allen

07:24 AM ET 05.18 | When it comes to free throws, LeBron James is the Cal Ripken Jr. of basketball. "I think it has been documented that LeBron changes his technique every three games," Dwyane Wade joked on Friday. James isn't going to be calling legendary Miami Hurricane Rick Barry anytime soon to discuss the underhanded approach, but the NBA's four-time Most Valuable Player is certainly open to suggestions when it comes to shooting foul shots. His current mentor: Ray Allen, one of the game's best free-throw shooters with a career average of .894. (For the record, Barry shot .893. in the pros.) With the Heat in a holding pattern until it learns its next opponent, James has had plenty of downtime to work on his free throws, which are always of premium importance in the postseason. In recent days, James' preferred method of practicing free throws and, more importantly, recreating the type of pressure he might feel at the line during a playoff game, is a competition-style game against Allen. More often than not, Allen steps to the line in the Heat's practice gym and drains 10 free throws in a row. James says he just tries not to "look crazy."

10:00 AM ET 05.18 | Through this whole bizarre process of interviewing outside coaching candidates while he still had a coach under contract, Hawks general manager Danny Ferry has maintained there's still a chance he might bring back Larry Drew. Sorry. But the guy whose future is dangling from a string isn't real confident of that happening. So he's moving on. When I asked Drew Friday what he believed the odds were of him being kept by the Hawks after Ferry completes his round of interviews, Drew responded, "After talking with my adviser on this, he doesn't like the odds. I don't like the odds, either. That's why I've decided to move on with other organizations." Drew will begin interviewing for other NBA coaching vacancies, beginning with Milwaukee this weekend.
