09:45 AM ET 05.25 | Although Alvin Gentry has a standing invitation to join Mike D'Antoni's staff as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers next season, he'd prefer to return to Los Angeles as a head coach ... with the Clippers. "If you look at that job, it's probably the best one out there," Gentry said of the Clippers' vacancy Thursday in an interview on ESPNLA 710. "When you take into consideration the talent level that they have and what they did this year." League sources have told ESPNLosAngeles.com that Gentry will be considered for the Clippers' job once the process gets more serious.

02:54 PM ET 05.24 | The NBA Draft is a wide open race when it comes to who will be the No. 1 overall pick for the Cleveland Cavaliers when they go on the clock this year. Unlike years past, there isn't a clear cut prospect that stands out above the rest of the field, as Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving did the past two seasons. Right now most of the talk is centering on Kentucky center Nerlens Noel but the Cleveland Cavaliers are wisely avoiding locking him in as the pick and he may end up falling out of the top slot so many have him pegged in. Noel simply isn't the best fit for the Cavaliers system at the moment and they won't be adjusting it to fit him in. Yes, he's an extremely talented big that can come in and be a major defensive factor but the Cavs do not need another offensively challenged player in their frontcourt and they don't need to be spending No. 1 picks on them. What the Cavaliers need is not far from the top, but who would it be?

04:26 PM ET 05.24 | Tony Parker suffered a bruise to his calf during the San Antonio Spurs' series against the Golden State Warriors and underwent an MRI on Thursday to check on the recovery. The results? His calf seems to be recovering just fine and there will be no limitation on his workload in Game 3 on Saturday. Parker said that he's feeling better and believes he'll be fine on Saturday.

04:24 PM ET 05.24 | New Orleans Pelicans point guard Greivis Vasquez will undergo surgery to remove loos particles in both of his ankles. A report had indicated that Vasquez is expected to miss 12 to 16 weeks. Vasquez dealt with ankle problems towards the end of the season where he missed four games between March and April with separate sprains. If the reported timetable is correct, Vasquez will be ready to return to basketball activities when training camp opens in October.

04:20 PM ET 05.24 | LeBron James hit a game-winning layup against the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, and his left-handed finish has become all the buzz. James states when he was eight years old his coach would drill him on the proper steps, and form, to finish with his left hand. That practice paid off for James, though it comes as no surprise that the leagues Most Valuable Player can drive left or hand and finish with either hand.
