07:14 AM ET 05.23 | Is timing everything? University of Oregon president Michael Gottfredson received a notice of allegations in the Ducks' ongoing NCAA investigation of its football recruiting practices on Dec. 5, 2012. The document was released [Wednesday] by the university in response to a public records request made by The Register-Guard. A letter from the NCAA to Gottfredson detailing the administrative process of the investigation is followed by seven specific allegations of wrong-doing by the Ducks under former head coach Chip Kelly. All seven closely resemble -- almost to the word -- allegations listed in Oregon's failed attempt at a summary disposition resolution as submitted to the NCAA in October of last year.

07:13 AM ET 05.23 | The teenage all-star team that is Kentucky's freshman class had other plans, something Wildcats hoops fans will no doubt appreciate. [You] might have learned none of these young men will play for America this summer in the FIBA U19 World Championships. According to UK coach John Calipari, that is not by his design. "Most of it is, they didn't want to play. I'm not forcing kids to do anything," Calipari told Sporting News. "I think the reason they all turned it down is, they want to get started." Kentucky's rich haul of 2013 recruits will bring guards Andrew and Aaron Harrison to Lexington, along with forward James Young, power forward Julius Randle and center Dakari Johnson. All were eligible for the U19 squad.

07:13 AM ET 05.23 | Eddie Vanderdoes may have been at the top of the list, but he was only part of it. [Adding] elite defensive linemen to the 2014 recruiting class was at the top of the Irish coaches' to-do list. "If Vanderdoes doesn't end up coming," said 247Sports national recruiting writer Steve Wiltfong, "then it becomes a little more urgent." ... [Standout D-linemen] helped transform the Irish into a national championship contender again. A step backward in that department would distance the Irish from the template with which the top-shelf SEC schools, in particular, build success. In that light, here are the names worth remembering: Khairi Clark, Josh Frazier and Andrew Williams. Those are the three players, Wiltfong said, that Notre Dame appears to be zeroing in on.

07:12 AM ET 05.23 | Big Ten fans may want to remember the name of freshman quarterback Damion Terry. There's been a lot of buzz about [Terry] because of his athletic ability and the fact that the Spartans want their signal-caller to be mobile in this evolving offense. While incumbent Andrew Maxwell is not guaranteed a starting job in the fall, there was a lot of positive talk coming out of East Lansing this spring [about Maxwell]. ... [Mark Dantonio] made his QBs "live" this spring, and that seemed to help Maxwell prepare for the rigors of another Big Ten season as a starter. However, Terry certainly could have packages developed for him if he masters the mental side of the offense. It would take a disastrous preseason camp, though, for Maxwell to not start the season opener.
