Notre Dame still owes Weis millions

02:40 PM ET 05.24 | Charlie Weis hasn't coached a Notre Dame football game since 2009. In fact, he's now coaching football games at Kansas. But even though it's been years since Wies was in South Bend, the Irish are still paying their former head coach. He has already received roughly $10 million in buyout payments and is scheduled to receive $8 million more through 2015. Although it's quite silly that Kansas paid a coach who has never had any real success at the college level $2.5 million for a campaign wherein he won only one game, at least Charlie Weis was in Lawrence showing up to work every day and trying as hard as Charlie Weis could to win football games.

07:52 AM ET 05.24 | It was recently announced that Duke Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski would remain the Team USA basketball coach through the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, but there was still some concern about how his position at Duke would be affected. There was some discussion that Coach K could step down as Duke head coach to focus on the national team before retiring from coaching, but he put that belief to rest on Thursday when he announced that he would be staying with Duke for the foreseeable future.

07:15 AM ET 05.24 | LSU's offer to rapper Snoop Lion's son Cordell Broadus turned some heads -- and no wonder. Snoop Lion, formerly known as Snoop Dogg, is a hip-hop icon whose celebrity stretches through multiple generations. The immediate question becomes, how good of a football prospect is his son? Well, it took only a few plays into his highlights to see that his father isn't the only talented male figure in the household. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Broadus is a really good football player that is worthy of big-time offers due to his ability on the football field alone. ... He is very long and seems to have some decent muscle mass and the ability to add a lot more down the road. Despite being a little thin now, Broadus shows good strength and the toughness to work the middle of the field.

07:14 AM ET 05.24 | Brady Hoke may not be a fan of Ohio State, but he has no problem with the state itself. The footballs U-M receiver Bo Dever tweeted a photo of this week, which said "Made In the USA, Not In Ohio," were not commissioned by Hoke. In fact, he said he didn't know anything about them. "I wish I knew," he said in an interview on KLSD-AM (1360) on Wednesday. "I guess we can find out from Adidas. I had no idea and I get into work, and I see that this has been tweeted out. The only thing I can say is the head coach at Michigan is from Ohio, and we've got a lot of football players from Ohio on our football team, so we think there's some good things made in Ohio." Dever's tweet was removed after it was discovered and went viral, but the damage was done.

Why Tennessee's the problem in the SEC

07:13 AM ET 05.24 | Les Miles may be on to something when it comes to the SEC's scheduling. Last year, LSU played Florida, as always, and South Carolina from the SEC East. The Gators and the Gamecocks each went 11-2. Compare that degree of difficulty with Alabama's SEC East opponents: Tennessee, as always, and league newcomer Missouri. They each finished 5-7. This year, Alabama plays Tennessee and Kentucky from the East, two programs that were so bad last year they fired their head coaches. LSU gets legitimate contenders Florida and Georgia. Advantage, Alabama. Again. Tennessee is the real problem here. The Vols haven't lived up to their history as one of the upper-echelon programs in the league in years. They haven't been ranked going into the Alabama game since 2007.
